I think you mean end of production, or end of sale. End of life is used to decide when device is no longer supported in latest software updates, etc. For instance HD6xxx is end of life.

This is very good news. It certainly means AMD will replace all the relevant models with new gen ones.

It means there is something in the same price bracket but noticeably faster.

Thought something along those lines as well. Was irritated, couldn't be that AMD stops driver updates for last gen products. But silly to even think that of course. 🙂

I guess this means that as I bought my card 11 months ago with 3 year warranty then I would end up with a 6700? if so then well die damnit lol I know it wont though my last MSI AMD card lasted 5 years before it was toast (R9 280)

Why? You can resell it and get a 6800xt.

If that's true then we should be expecting RX 6700 series launch alongside Navi 21, right?

Maybe they should updating considering all of the fixes these cards get, especially when one of the updates breaks something.

It has to be if the rumours about 3060 are true. I might upgrade once again after all, but i'll likely wait until Direct Storage is active in Win10. Boost it up!

Thanks buddy, I will keep that in mind. For me, those cards are well supported in *Nixes. And new cards coming in, "old" cards are getting cheaper.

This "news" is actually a rumor that was debunked already. AMD already responded : “We are continuing to produce the Radeon RX 5700 series graphics cards, which deliver exceptional 1440p gaming experiences. We will continue to respond to market demand," AMD told Tom's Hardware. You should not trust rumors/speculations 🙂

With a nice bargain it is still a good GPU... So it mostly depend on the use per price. BTW: i have read the cowcot land article, it doesn't said that it is EOL at all, they said that A RUMOR said that the 5700 CUSTOM, MIGHT BE no more in production, and that WE WILL SEE what happen when the RDNA2 card will launch IF THE RUMOR IS TRUE... On other hand RX570 and RX580 are both still in production and very nice for 1080 for 2/3 of the price of the RX5500, so i think this is just a rumor...

Well, if I can get one 5700XT new for around $ 200, I'll get one. AMD driver in Linux is far less troublesome.

Yeah I was thinking something similar. I've been pretty enticed by the 5700XT. The price drop from its Windows' woes is a boon to people like us. But... I just wish it was a bit faster. I want something readily 4K-ready, and the 5700XT just isn't quite good enough.
