For mining, great.

Does this even make sense on a full 580/590 core?

Not at all.

Future proof at 1080p cause of lazy developers and the moar crowd? I'm being serious about the first part.
my mind blocked off the mining completely since i thought it died off completly but i guess if there are currencies that still are profitable ...there will be miners , Dunno till they need 16gb for 1080 p i think they will be irrelevant imagine if they had given the 7850 8gb vram .... sure it is good amount for 2019 but the gpu core ...is too weak to render anything playable 1080p when will use all those .... (( ultra textures etc)) else the 7850 with generous reductions in quality it is still capable of gaming

570 + 16GB VRAM = waste of resources.

Can run Final Fantasy XV at 4k and not run out of memory! But core performance of the 570 limits the performance lol.

So this will be between Vega 64 and radeon VII. Now I feel really weird with my lower end gpu. 🙁

It can run RE2 with maxed out 8gb+ textures and still having enough vram despite being slower than some cards with much less vram that cant.

16 Gb is the standard. Ha ha, just a joke, but I'm afraid many GTX 1060 and RTX 2060 owners will run out of their 6 Gb memory very soon in 2019, even on 1080p, if they want to use the sharpest textures and such.

hehe is ok if i run to such case i will survive in high detail textures rather than ultra !

But why would you settle for high when you can have ultra?

This is so... dumb. I could maybe understand a 590 with this much memory, but even then, 12GB seems overkill. Considering the profit margins of AIBs, I don't know who thought this was worth it, especially now that crypto mining has mostly lost everyone's interest.

despite crypto's black eye, there are untold billions of crypto out there. and someone is going to mine it. this is a freak card that was probably designed before the crash. but honestly they should've been making mining specific cards for a while.

They just have too much old GDDR5 chips remaining so they waste them on a 16gb model.

you could run those fancy 50gb "UHD" texture packs that some games offer as DLC, but then with such a relatively huge buffer bandwidth probably becomes a choking point for such a card honestly if it doesnt add like 50% more in pricing I always take the bigger memory so thats one less setting to worry about, just use ultra or whatever is the highest

590 with 16gb could be interesting. Maybe new games are just starting to use unexpectedly more vram like RE2.

Can the 570 even use 8GB of Vram before it runs out of graphics horsepower? Let alone 16GB of Vram. The 570 came in a 4GB variant was well as an 8GB. Now a 570 with 16GB of Vram is pretty silly. Use the 16GB with a 580 and a 590 at least. Those two cards might be able to use 16GB of Vram.
