So we're back to splitting sli functionality between certain boards like back in the 680i days? Are they planning on making a return to the days of making boards either cfx or sli capable?

It says quadro, so im guessing that only quadro cards can quad sli. While id never go back to multi gpu, its pretty greedy to limit gamer cards to 2x only. Being able to pick up some cheap x60 or now xx60s, to get some extra perf in 3x sli without breaking the bank was always a great thing. Thing is though, it stops people like me from upgrading every gen when i can just drop another card in and go sli/3x sli for 2 additional gens before upgrading. Gotta milk that hardware.

The article doesn't refer to quad SLI, only VR SLI. That's 2 cards in SLI for each display - not quad SLI. I only see 3 x16 slots on the board. No one(including Nvidia) cares about 4 way SLI.

It's common sense - how many people even use 3 or 4 way SLI?
