So soon after the first one? Why does this sound like a cash grab...

Just for you amusement then... I do know how game development works. However, when a dev tells me he doesn't need money to make a game, but then he starts crowd funding for one... Look, you're young and naive. It's fine. But don't start arguing with me unless you know what you're talking about. http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a67/eclap/Untitled-1_zpsuwrgcjxp.jpg~original It makes me lol. You make me lol. Go on then... Ian Bell said on more than one occasion he doesn't need money to make pCARS2. Why is he crowd funding pCARS2 then? Where would my £50 or £100 go if he doesn't need it to make the game? Would it be spent on his whore bill? Or on tyres for his Ferrari? Simple question. I'll give you a couple of days to go study your WMD code of conduct manual and I hope you come back with an answer to my question. Until then, ta ra
hahahahahaha stop it please, oh I think a little bit of wee came out. I guess should probably be upset or annoyed by your response but as it was so comical and you called me "young" I've decided you're now my favourite little treacle in the whole wide world. I'm not 100% sure I can explain any better than Ian has in the post you quoted of his but I'll try. How about this, It's what you grown ups call business I think. I wouldn't know being so young, (your very sexy you know... for an older gentleman) I'll also offer another possible answer. Now brace yourself, this one is REALLY OUT THERE and it's probably a bit obvious for mature business executive like yourself and more than likely a bit "naive" on my part as well. Maybe, just maybe, he could add even more content and/or more licenses? Insert dramatic music here -> da da daaaaaaa! I pretty sure someone with your development knowledge and business acumen could think of useful ways to spend extra money even if you didn't actually need it couldn't you? You didn't really need me or anybody else to help you with such a conundrum? And do remember, the Wookie isn't really dragging anybody down to the cash point by the goolies, you don't have to spend a single penny if you don't want too.

You seem to struggle with basic English. Ian Bell
Again, we don't need the money. We have enough to fund pCARS2.

That's probably the funniest thing I've ever seen. "Look bro, I don't want your money anyway, I'm doing just fine starting work on a sequel when the game we just finished is still full of bugs".

He doesn't want the money... then he sets up crowd funding where people give him money. Sounds legit.

I think your the one struggling with English or maybe basic arithmetic. Or perhaps your business acumen isn't as developed as I first hoped or you seem to think it is. Ian needs, (a completely random number), £5m pounds to make pcars2. Ian has £5m and can make pcars2 and doesn't need your money to do so. Are you with me so far? I could try typing more slowly but I don't think it would have the quite the effect I'm looking for Now if people want to put money in either through crowd funding or private investment this will obviously generate more funds. This in turn could be used to expand pcars2 beyond its current scope, be that with EXTRA content or EXTRA licences or whatever, why shouldn't he do so? Even from a business point these extra funds could be used so SMS doesn't have to stretch itself financially and provide extra security. So he doesn't NEED your money to make pcars2, as its planned at the moment but if more funds are available why not make use them? I really sorry but I just don't know how to make it any simpler for you. If you want to argue or contest the point any further we'll just say your right and I'm wrong and you can be happy. NN treacle, still wuv voo

Thanks, I'm glad you admitted you're wrong. I'm happy with that.

Like you said eclap, he's gotta pay off the original investors. What better way to do it than ask new people for money to pay off the old people. :wanker: Also IDK about the UK, but I know here in the USA it's not legal to use funds meant for Item A and instead use them on Item B. Example: Tuning shop uses money from Customer B to finish up Customer A's car. Misappropriation of funds I believe is what it's called. Then again I'm not sure if it could even apply in this case.

It's pretty simple, and you don't need to be Wordsworth or Keats to understand it. Why is he asking for money when he very clearly states he doesn't need it? This looks extremely suspicious to me tbh.

Yeah, call grammar police etc. And why so much hate? Back to topic - this sounds kinda weird. We don't need your money, but we'd like your money? If they're going for crowdfunding / or big investors, they should be more transparent. The lack of transparency and false advertising were a problem with Project CARS 1, and it would be good if they somehow fixed that for the 2nd part. I like this game, it's pretty solid. Despite having some bugs, it was very playable (at least for me) on day 1. What I don't like is a lot of marketing info from so-called "pro drivers" praising the game for realism, which despite being pretty good, is not remotely as good as in some other titles (especially force feedback). I preordered Project CARS, and I'd buy it again, but I'm not comfortable with the fact that my decision was based on a false premise. As a result, I may buy Project CARS 2, but it won't be a preorder. I think it was my last one. And I pretty much share these opinions - if you have spare 20 minutes, it shouldn't be wasted time: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mf5Uj4XIT1Y

Ha! That's one hell of a cringe worthy sentence. Also on topic all I can get from this is that Ian only values the opinions of people who are willing to give him more money(that he says he doesn't want or need) for a product that doesn't exist yet.

hahaaaaa... pwned! I really enjoy seeing pCARS2 funding struggling to make money. They're after £7m, but atm they seem to be taking £2k a day. Crowd funding will run for a couple of months or so, according to Ian Bell. That means, if they keep up the current income from crowd funding, they might just break the half million barrier. GG SMS.
