Thank you for explaning that eclap...i mean Denial. 😀
Lol, I was ready to provide proof that Kepler is fine, it seriously is. The whole Kepler saga needs to die, there is nothing to add to it. Kepler is fine. There was a couple of games that had bad performance with Kepler gpus, nvidia addressed the issue (it was TW3 and the 2nd game was GTAV iirc).

GTA5 working fine here (with the exception of it killing my PSU lol) 1440p mixture of very high/a few high/tessellation normal x2 MSAA/TXAA/FXAA, AF x8. getting 60+FPS 99% of the time.

I find the Keplar thing particularly amusing now seeing as I just got a 780ti (paired to a stock i7 2600K) and it continually trumps my 970 (w/ stock 4790K). Downgrade my ***. 🙂

Kepler is working great in my kids rig with sli 780ti @1440p, nothing wrong with kepler. GTA V runs great.

Why don't they learn from cards like the 5970: Take two high end GPUs AND UNDERCLOCK THE SODDING THINGS SO IT HAS A REASONABLE TDP!!!! Dual GPU cards nowadays are bad because of this. The only remotely redeeming one was the GTX690.

well... it's a PowerColor Radeon R9 290 X2 Devil13 with double memory 🙂 if it cost the same it is good anyway 🙂

devil 13 is always highly Overclockable, it's not dual GPU from manufacturer. on other hand i remember my GTX590 that OC fine over 580 spect and was running 24/7 until i sold it (standard were like 570 speed).

Even that one was kinda so-so because of the 2GB of vRam. The only dual gpu card I remember that didn't flop was the 6990.

The 6990 was DOA. The 690 had longer leggs than the 6990 ever dreamed of. The 6990 was stoned by the 680.

Wait, 6990 competing with 590, not 690. But yeah, 690 was amazing dual-gpu. One of the nVidia's finest. Its a shame it didnt had full 4GB of vram.

The 6990 was dead on arrival though. Only thing I was disputing was that the 690 was more relevant than the fairly non-existent 6990. I had CF6950's at the time and still thought the 6990 was DOA at the time. The R9 290X didn't stone the 690 so it stuck around for a lot longer than anyone expected it to.

690 could not effectively use 4gb of vram per gpu anyway. The gpu was not strong enough anyways. Learned that the hard way with 2 4gb 680s.

Depends on what you mean by DOA. OP is DOA in just about every aspect, but 6990 was not that uncommon, solo or in trifire. It was much more popular than 590. 295x2 had its charms, but with 980 TI appearance it ran its course. And same with 690 - it stuck around, longer than many other cards, but no1 bought 1 after 780 had been released.

I am confused about this card. Is it being marketed as a 16gb card or is it 2 GPUs with 8gb per GPU like the 690 was a 2gb per GPU card? Also with this card I don't think it is powerful enough to handle 8gb per gpu.

Its 8gb per gpu, I have my doubts it has enough gpu grunt being based on a 2 year old 290. I seriously doubt my cards have enough gpu grunt if the came with double the vram tbh.

Yeah that is exactly what I thought.

The 590 was DOA as well. It was pulled from production less than a year after introduction. I stand by my statement. Honestly the whole 6xxx series was abandoned after a year anyways by AMD.

Well, 7xxx series appeared to be very successful, thats probably the reason why. So successful thats still around. 😀

Usually it doesn't work quite like that considering the two GPU's are sharing the same PCB. I would have thought this card would have 3x connectors. Definitely not 4.
from their website specs list for the card Minimum System Power requirement (W) 1000W Extension Power Connector Four 8-pin PCI Express Power Connectors

The whole 6xxx series was a massive disappointment imo. Kind of like geforce 4xx series. While nvidia made everything better with 5xx and even more so with 6xx and AMD's 7xxx rectified the mess that was 6xxx.
