Lol seeing it right now.

Ask, and ye shall receive.....
I shouldn't have said a word... lol

It's almost as if manufacturing and R&D costs increase with the complexity of the chip..

lol? It was 399$ when it came out? Medicore performance? Go home your drunk.. it offers a good performance for a mid/high range card.
So it came down a $100 bucks the r9 280x is better bang for the buck since you are getting 1gb of vram more for the same price. And there is the r9 290 for around the same price as the 4gb model of the 770. finally the 770 is really not a very good buy right now as far as price per performance goes.

Omg that TDP with that performance and 880 is 190W? Why don't they just max the TDP/performance on 28nm and be done with it? :3eyes:

If these are real specs not to impressed ill probably get a 780ti for The Witcher 3

Im surprised folks think 780ti will be faster but whatever. i still remember the uber 780 scores on launch folks were seeing.

The 880 is going to be better than the 780, otherwise there would be no point in nvidia releasing it. Nvidia would also look pretty stupid wouldn't they. Think about it.

256bit bus? not a bottleneck? With also rumoured 6GB cards coming?? Who the hell would put 6GB on a 256bit frame buffer? Lower cuda core count... sure its using Maxwell cores, but that is not just a few lower its nearly 900 cuda cores lower! bandwidth... 780ti 336GB/s compared to 224.5GB/s these are stock speeds. But overclock that 780Ti and you would break 350GB/s quite easily with good cooling. You would have to overclock that memory on the 880 pretty damn high to achieve similar bandwidth. Even then yet again we have only a 256bit bus so you will hit that bottleneck overclocking the memory much quicker than if it has a 384bit bus. On paper it will not win, not a chance in hell. Unless overclocked A LOT, which we know Maxwell can do. But then again not everyone likes to or know how to overclock. And with these coming in a lower prices Nvidia would shoot themselves in the foot if these performed better than their more expensive previous cards.
You can't easily compare the bandwidth between Kepler & Maxwell, as Maxwell uses it's bandwidth in a lot more efficient manner due to the larger L2 cache. This was evidenced by the 750ti, and I remember it being concluded that memory bandwidth is about twice as efficient as Kepler, so you can probably take Maxwell's bandwidth & double it - then you can compare that figure against the Kepler cards. Same thing with the number of cores, they're about 30% more efficient per core for the same clockspeed (each core takes up less space on the die in comparison to Kepler too - able to fit more cores per mm squared). These Maxwell cards are going to be awesome, even on 28nm, the power efficency vs performance is really impressive, close to double that of Kepler.

I'd suggest about 30% more performance per core.

I will wait for something really new ,20-14 nm built process,....or better DX12,hope that makes the difference...right now my 780 is running all that i trow at it in 1080 without problems....i need to see at least 60-70 % performance increase when i buy a new card :supercool

But they also released the TITAN Z...

That's why you upgrade a Videocard every 2 generations. I gladly take your money if you want to throw it away every year for 10% performance.

Zipper, I remember you from laptopvideo2go! I don't use that site much now, but still check in there every so often to see some news. Are you on NBR forums too - haven't seen you on there?

Yes, I'm everywhere (as zipperi, too)(MSI laptops atm.) 🤓

Its kinda hard to tell how fast it will be in 3d11 but it takes my 680 1500+ on the core and a cpu going 5.0+ to get 13300 gpu score. I cant tell what cpu speed used by the screen shot(9800 score so its stock) but should be around 20% more power(for this bench)easy over the 770

But they also released the TITAN Z...
So? Titan-Z is powerful, it was the price that was wrong.
