As far as raw response time goes, there are now passable VAs. But I would never touch a VA again with an over 9000 foot pole. I switched from a Samsung Odyssey G7 (1440p, 240Hz, VA) to the Alienware AW3423DWF (3440x1440, 165Hz, QD-OLED) and the difference is staggering even in perceived resolution even though they're both physically the same height + pixel height. For whatever reason the VAs I've seen make it so much easier to pick out the subpixels from a distance, it's harder to see on any IPS, and far harder to see on this OLED. Anyway, aside from having a perceived lower resolution, that 240Hz VA was also HDR600 which is the absolute bare minimum to make it usable IMO, "HDR400" can often look worse than SDR depending on the content.

@Neo Cyrus even expensive VA monitors suffer from smearing that's why VA is an instant nope from me!

I had many complaints about the Samsung Odyssey G7, but dark level smearing wasn't one. It's just about the only VA out there, or at least was at the time of its release, that didn't have dark level smearing. Even other monitors with the exact same panel had dark smearing.
