Congratz to the winner! I have this exact card as well and it is really a great card; however, I have a question about this statement: 🙂

My Palit GTX 650 Ti BOOST OC gets to a max boost of 1150 mhz in a few games that are GPU intensive, at this frequency the temps get to about 62 Celsius max and fan speed runs at 70% when temps hit over 60 Celsius. In that case it gets pretty loud, like a blow dryer. I noticed this card begins to be loud starting at 60% fan speed. No problem at idle though, I set the fans to 30% on idle. Should I just change the fan curve to like 50% speed so as to keep it silent? Cheers! 🙂

Are you venting the PC properly ? Our sample was drop dead silent. But sure, change the fan RPM delta, as long as you can keep your GPU at acceptable temperatures (below 80 degrees C) you definitely have room to play with.

Thanks for the reply Don Hilbert As per GPU-Z, 70% fan speed is 3,000 RPM so I guess it is pretty loud. My PC is relatively well ventilated, 2x 120mm intake fans front and bottom, with 2x 120mm exhaust rear and top. Well anyway I'll try to reduce the fan speed and see if the temps will be acceptable, 60 Celsius is still pretty cool compared to the Fermi cards at this caliber that reach up to 80 C's. 😀 Thanks again

Jesus Christ!!!!!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE I WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I never won anything at any contest!! So today it's a national holiday here in Romania, and i just figured to check some sites before i go out and get drunk 🙂, i get on guru3d.com, i see they are announcing the winner, and i was like "ok, let's see who the lucky punk is..", and can't believe it's me!!!!!!!!! This couldn't come at a better time, because my old card, that flaming GTX 470, died on me almost two weeks ago, just as it got out of warranty period 🙁, so now i'm running a replacement ATI x550. This is the best day EVER!!! Thank You Guru3d, for the opportunity to enter this contest, and thank you for the prize! I'm happy 😀

Yep, i remember when i bought it, i got it with a 30% discount, as NVIDIA just released the 5 series. It worked good, considering that i have a Core 2 Duo CPU, except it got really hot during gaming and noisy. I loved the way it was built, very sturdy and heavy, i had the Dual Fan edition, it was really good looking, and it gave you the impression that if you had like 100 000 of these puppies, you could build a house with them 🙂.

Thank you, me too! 🙂) Can't wait for some gaming with it, it's going to be a special day when it arrives. I'm going to prepare my computer, get it dust-free and everything.
