To add to this, Markus Pearson was in talks with Oculus to bring Minecraft to the device, if he's serious on this (the tweet seems like it is) - he's now cancelled the deal because of Facebook acquiring the company. Some people may not be into Minecraft, but I think if this is true - its a bit of a blow to the platform considering how popular Minecraft is. Sure people could likely mod it in decently, but having it done properly by the makers would have been much better. https://twitter.com/notch/status/448586381565390848
We were in talks about maybe bringing a version of Minecraft to Oculus. I just cancelled that deal. Facebook creeps me out.

Well, now they have the money to do whatever they want with that technology and can deliver it to normal consumer faster and cheaper. Most people will be happy that it has Facebook behind it, but not me. I would rather stay away from Facebook related things.

Wow, I've been following Oculus since the beginning and this is the first time I've felt like it could completely fail. All of the innovation and strive was lost before the ink dried... in my opinion. Was ready to order my dev kit when I decided to wait for dev kit 2, was ready to order now... very glad I saw this before I did. No support from me anymore Oculus. In my opinion all focus will now shift away from true gaming. Hope I'm wrong 🙁 Enjoy your 2 Billion. TechnikL

The power of money. I used facebook ads long time ago. Maybe there are 1-2 cents of my money in that 2 billion lol. Facebook ads is the lowest converting ads compared to other platforms but many still use it and give facebook money they don't earn

Why would anyone outside of developers want a devkit? I read you can't do much with them as far as playing games in VR unless your developing something for it

To support Oculus, and to play the few games that do support it now 🙂 and give feedback, etc. But just can't do it now...
