Tbh this is a good thing for oculus team for sure. They get more money to deliver the product I do believe they will deliver us a good VR set for gaming, after that they will make something for facebook to do what?

I suspect FB is interested in creating something like second life? Or perhaps virtual rooms where cameras can put your face in realtime as the head of a virtual body...or maybe they want to get into some kind of other social gaming.

To be honest this is pointless. Most of the people of facebook do not have PC's capable of running Occulus. It must suck right now to be a backer because they helped get the project off the ground then those *******s have now sold out.

No idea what to make of this? On one hand with Facebook backing it then there is a much larger chance this will actually be something, and not another dead gimmick for the history books. On the other, what they do with the tech might not be the best news for gamers, as they have already said gaming is not what they are aiming for. Suppose this is how things are going to be with Kickstarter and the like, if it's a bad idea then it will likely fail, and if it's a good one then one of the big companies will buy it.

Same, I was really excited about getting one too, been looking forward to it since it was a kickstarter -- The funny thing is, I would imagine the majority of FB is made up of kids on phones or low end laptops - or non tech people How many rifts are they gonna sell to them? People like us were their biggest market and they just fk'd us
