I think the end goal of Nvidia is to "platformize" the GFE into a full-blown analog of Steam for PC, as if we don't have enough front-end stores already. They already have an on-line service for the Shield-specific apps and games on Android, so it's not a far fetched speculation.

...I'm gonna have to put my name and password through a label maker and stick it to my Titan to remember it...

the automatic driver updates are mainly for the common folks hehe. Im pretty sure everyone here already got the drivers installed before they send out the notification 😀 However i do look forward to see some new functions added, and hopefully now the settings of the folders to scan are kept on the cloud now as i had to enter them manually every time i used ddu and installed gfe again.

GFE 3.x is not yet tested / added with DDU. So expect left over. Will do as soon as I have time.
Keep up the good work man, thanks for the program, I never installed drivers without using DDU previously since I came here.

Remember folks that Nvidia said that one day GFE will be mandatory. The outrage that caused was never addressed by them, all they said was, well if you want day one drivers then you'll have to use GFE and someone else(not them) will split the driver software apart from the GFE and release it separately but that might be 3-7 days after GFE releases the driver.

Maybe later at one point GFE is going to replace the Nvidia Control Panel which is getting more laggy lately... who knows.

They would have to rebrand it or something. Gamers aren't the only ones who use the Nvidia control panel. That being said I wish they would do something with the Legacy CP. Either bring the settings from it into Experience or fix the app up. It's scales terribly with DPI and it's way too slow for what it does.

Thank goodness I'm going over to team red.

Why they would chose to do this is beyond me. More precise data gathering for future product development? Just creepy? Razer is the only other company I know that requires this, and they aren't exactly the hallmark of a well-preserved brand.
Quite a few are going toward the 'cloud' to ostensibly to save settings, allow easier updates and make your peripherals portable. Corsair, Logitech among others. Personally, I have one email addy I use for all stuff like this which I don't use for anything that's a security risk. I tried out the new GeFarce BETA and it removed some features like LED control. I'm going to revert back to using the driver mod to install just the old school Nvidia Update component.
Thank goodness I'm going over to team red.
Good for you. But, why should we care?

what is Ansel? and do i care as long as i dont have isntall GFE to just drivers i dont care, I will still never use it

Total nonsense software, another database to be hacked and details leaked I bet in 3 years time.

Who is using piece of junk anyway? DDU manual driver updating is way to go. Shadowplay, Game Stream? There is better software for that purpose and free too, like OBS. Ansel? Never heard of it.
I. I'm doing this for years. Has OBS also virtually no impact on performance just like Shadowplay? Because thats the only reason why i use this piece of junk. And proud of it too?

Great, another crappy underhanded way for Nv to make money, by selling our info. I'm near my breaking point.

Sometimes I install GFE, sometimes I don't. Looks like I won't bother anymore as I don't use any of that stuff and one more pointless login to avoid. GFE was mainly useful to me as a reminder to update my driver when a new one releases.

Thankfully I don't use the features that Geforce experience entails, so I won't miss it any. There are already way too many accounts and passwords to try to remember as it is. :/

Why anyone would create Google account in the first place to track you around the internet is beyond me... Anyway, as someone asked, yeah its still a Beta. Looks like its even faster than the previous beta. Huge improvement over the old software.
GFE 3.0 beta is absolutely a huge improvement on the previous non-beta build and yesterday it updated again. I could never get the old version to launch from the NVIDIA system tray shortcut except after installing GFE for the first time; once I rebooted or shutdown my PC then it would go back to not working even though GFE otherwise worked fine from a desktop shortcut. So at least NVIDIA have fixed that (or the changes they've made finally allow it to work on my system) plus the software is about 20X faster, literally opening in seconds and displaying all 150 detected games in Grid view within 5 seconds. The old version was sluggish as hell and took about 15-20 seconds just to appear onscreen nevermind actually be useable!

I would ask: "What kind of data GFE collects?" Google Analytics involved for now till nVidia gets their own? Apparently being connected through GMail where most of people have real name and stuff gives nVidia great control. "Oh Mr. customer, your card was running out of stock clocks for two months." "But Mr. nVidia, it was only by 10MHz and I am filling RMA for defective fan." "No buts Mr. Customer."

Is there a forum built into GFE now? I haven't used it for a few years but I don't remember it having a forum.

So let me get this straight, I have to sign up to be able to use ALL of the features of my video card and the software that comes with it.
