its a sales thingy - think! Nvidia have exhausted the well off with the clash of the titans and the ti's . A little market here to get rid of spare parts etc for people who are stuck between 3 and 6 but cant get on the 6 platform - cumon down, '5 is right ' 🙂;) 😕:p:D 😱 🙄o_O
forget what bus it fits - it will be the school bus .
I bet most people who buy a card for their computer have no knowledge about buses and bits

Well this review by HH gives us some ballpark figures regarding the differences to expect (look at GTX1060 6 vs 3); http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/msi_geforce_gtx_1060_gaming_x_3gb_review,12.html
(Bare in-mind this is using a more premium version of the 3GB card).
I think this new version will be fine for 1080p gaming while being cheap enough for more people to be able to afford it in Asia.

Like 970 with 3.5gb memory, This 1060 with 4.5gb memory? lol

While this may seem like an attractive offer, you need to understand that Nvidia are trying to squeeze out every last bit of profit from their Pascal Architecture and being the greedy scumbag like every major company. It'll be a while before we see Ampere or Volta even though they might be already ready for release.

i dont see the point to this, is the current gen not saturated enough with "models"?

Well more mindless BS PR by Nvidia. It's like they knew that they should not have released the 3Gb version of the 1060 and by releasing the 5GB version its making the 3GB even more obsolete than it was when it first launched. First the 1070 Ti and now this. What's next for them to release a 1090 now with 2 1080s on it? Or maybe a 1060 ti with 7GB of RAM and 1400-1500 Cuda cores. What AMD card is this going to compete with?

Fender they probably retiring the fucking 3GB because TBH, we all know the real minimum is 4 now. This makes perfect sense to do.. Also maybe they have some chips that aren't 100% and this makes them viable.. regardless, I think this is a good move.
