I still get janky performance because PC games are so piss-poorly made these days. Bust out the backlog and also enjoy all the new indie games that are low requirement. All my 4090 has done for me is compensate partially for utter trash (lack of) optimization for games that should run decently on a GTX 970. The current modern PC gaming landscape is a festering hive of scum and villainy... that's on fire... at the bottom of a dumpster, that has a clown fiesta going on above it. Between backlogs, indie games, and the extensive library of old console games you can emulate, believe me, you're not missing out on much. Even the recently released titles that require a lot of power, that I want to play, are so screwed up that I'll be waiting months for patches.
