I'm in no rush to buy one. I'll hold onto my GTX 1080 until AMD shows what they have to offer and prices go back to MSRP. Maybe even wait for the "RTX 30_0 TI" editions.
That's far too sensible approach.

Hopefully the prices stabilise, but I wouldn't hold my breath. Good thing my AORUS 1080 still performs well.

85 GPU at stock hahahahahaha what a joke.
yes. 85 GPUs just for a launch, in just one store, in a city of 80,000 people, is clearly not enough when everyone wants one LOL "be smart and wait for benchmarks" Or be dumb, preorder and resell it for double. To the smart ones AHAHAHA

For me this was all on prepository, the price was low they made just a few for rise the price again like Serie20, nvidia is waiting to amd release they gpu and sell more, and until sotkc arrive the promo of 1 yearGeForce NOW and Digital Watch Dogs: Legion is over because only until 29 october

Bought a 2080 ti last year, so I can allways wait. The only reason I'm interested in a 3080/3090 is the ablilty to play upwards 4K 120 Hz at my LG C9 with HDMI 2.1.

1080 gang unite! Keep in mind mass production only started back in August, the cards will keep flying out the factory line and into stores. There is no reason prices won't stabilize eventually.

Got over the blues by just ordering a oled48cx. Will be fine with my 2080TI until the madness passes

Same here... I will wait to see what Big Navi brings to the table and if I'm not satisfied ----> 3080Ti...

Well 0 in stock here so that made my decision to wait even sweeter.

Artificial scarcity to grab headlines away from the other news on the 'net right now. F***ing' pathetic...LJJ has done this **** before with the 400 series, the George Foreman xtreme 'crank that **** up!' edition or whatever is was....I'll have to get the news piece(s) surrounding that, but yeah, artificial scarcity...what a joke.

Yep, things should be back to normal in a week or so. That's good news about ebay scalpers having a hard time of it ... "Do unto others as they do unto you".

After the launch
https://abload.de/img/321jok1a.png Shift to internet sales results in a physical store's "inventory" being depleted in minutes. They need to allocate a percentage of inventory to "store location only", for a given time period.

Translation: "Sorry for the paper launch!..."

Not sure why the hysteria to grab one immediately. Will anyone lives fall apart if they hold off for a couple weeks or a month till sufficient inventories build up? 🙄

Yet a single store in a city of 80k residents has received 85 cards. That's more than 1 HIGH END $700 GPU per thousand residents; just in one mortar and brick store, and excluding online. I mean how many cards during a launch do we need? 1 per household? 7 BILLIONS? LOL

You won't see outrage and condemnation about this like you would if it was AMD. I've got stock coming in scheduled for 22nd but that could change
You have it backwards, AMD's are the ones that do no wrong.

Well, I was looking forward to amore reasonably priced generation, but the prices hiked in my country to 2xxx levels. Great...
Actually the 3000 series is priced the same as the 2000 series (the 3070 and 3080 I mean). I know that comparing the 2 generations' FE models, the new ones are priced $100 less, but with the 2000 series, AIB models were $100 less than the FE models, while here the AIB models start at the same price as the FE model. So basically - except for the FE models - both 3070 and 3080 are priced the same as the 2070 and 2080.
