Why dont you post vram usage on the cards using rt? 4080 is really close being memory limited in this game. 4070ti cant even run it with rt as it has not enough vram.
Well I'm sure your 6700XT can run the game at similar FPS to 7900XTX, what is the difference between 2 to 6FPS anyways 😉

No but it runs the hell of a better than my 3070 that had to use low textures and no rt and still had stutters.

Yeah, I guess you got 90% of perceived gaming experience of the 7900XTX already, pretty sad that 7900XTX does not offer any substantial gaming experience over mid range RDNA2

It does the same job as the 4080. 4k max settings no rt. Im sure midrange rdna2 cant do that but its doing well at 1440p. 😉

You can easily dismiss whatever the 7900XTX is doing better vs RDNA2 as gimmick, 4K? gimmick, Ultra settings? gimmick 😉

7900XTX is too slow to play heavy RT games, 4K FSR Performance is a compromise to visual no one is willing to take, so yeah 7900XTX is too slow in modern RT game. for example

Image was trimmed for easy comparison 😀
First of all, I already said it's absolutely slower in RT. Nobody is disputing that. Buying AMD with RT being your #1 priority is objectively stupid. But, your way of thinking is so narrow-minded that you think RT is the only way to judge a product. But more importantly, if you're going to cherry pick results, maybe don't pick the one where the GPU of a higher MSRP also offers an unplayable experience... Spending 4 figures on a GPU that's supposed to be better for RT and still sucks at it is not appealing. It's like you're saying "what do you prefer to stick your face in: feces or garbage?" as if one is obviously better than the other. Turn off RT and suddenly, the 4080 is the one that's behind.
Krizby:

4090 is outselling 4080/7900XTX, so I'm talking about 4090 here?
Did you ever stop to think about what you're saying there? The 4090 sells better because both 4080 and 7900s are outright bad value products. If you're going to spend 4 figures on just a GPU, you're obviously not on a tight budget, so you might as well get the best. The thing you keep forgetting though is most aren't privileged enough to buy a 4090, and even for people who have the money, it's not a practical product.

Doesn't look unplayable to me 😀

So you agree that 7900XTX is bad value product, all I need to hear my man 😛

Stop moving goalposts, it's really not helping your cause. I'm going by the graph you referenced. I'm sure FSR 2.1 yields playable results too, but of course you wouldn't show that.

That was never the point of the discussion, but you're so caught up in justifying your purchase. Trust me, the 4090 is a bad value too, but of all GPUs worth 4 figures, it makes the most sense to get. Literally, the 4080 is a better value than the 4090 (the performance-per-dollar is better) but it isn't the more sensible choice. It's one of those situations where you might as well go all out or not bother at all.

huh, you can't bring 6FPS figure to 60FPS with upscaling, without destroying the whole image beyond recognition. You do understand that 4090 is the best GPU right now, what other justification do I need really? Sure yeah maybe it's expensive, but playing game on 4090 is like having a master chef cook for you everyday, who can make basic ingredients (games) into masterpiece 😀

According to what?

Seeing as we're talking about your personal opinion, I have no right to tell you what is justified. In fact, the thing I keep saying over and over again is that it's the only 4-figure GPU that is justified to purchase, because that's a stupid amount of money to spend on a single part, so you might as well go all-out. The problem here is that you justify the price, and, how you go about doing so. It's one thing to say "I'm willing to spend a lot on this" but it's a very different meaning when you say (and I quote) "people were thinking 4090 were priced on the low side" and "Since time = money, I saved lots of money already". The irony about the latter quote is, the whole point of the device is for leisure; something that goes against using time for money.

According to common sense, which you probably don't have Boosting FPS by 2x using FSR2.0 Performance already destroy image quality so much, you don't want to look what 10x factor does 🙄. Every piece of tech lose value over time, Ampere and RDNA2 are selling for 1/2 their original prices, that means time that I wasted troubleshooting or waiting for magical drivers like what AMD fans love doing so much, is practically wasting the value of GPU.

Gaming division is no longer the bulk of their revenue, AI is where Nvidia is focused is this moment.
Maybe but then if they don't care about gaming anymore then it's not nVidia anymore. You know IBM is still around but that's not the same IBM as when i was young.

The cheapest RTX 4090 in Canada is around 2250$. I know some guys around here think it's peanuts for a GPU but good lord you had a top of the line PC with all the bling for that price 5 years ago. I still believe it is madness. Not everyone is paid in the six figures and when people will have to chose between a 720$ CAD console or a 4000$ CAD pc for gaming the choice will be easy to make for lot of them. I mean even if you decide to go for a 4060 and i5 your PC will still cost you in the 2500$ CAD range which was the cost for some of the most expensive PC 5 years ago. Complete madness imo and it will bring back PC gaming to the same status it was when it was "slowly dying" many yeras ago.

Nvidia care about gaming, but is not their priority as the AI market is more profitable in the future. Nvidia still delivers the best product if you want top of the line gaming experience, the best hardware and feature set. The only market that Nvidia dont care is entry level gaming as their products in that segment are rubbish.
