Well if that is all Nvidia was doing then they should not have forced the vendors to sign an NDA. Its their own damn fault for trying to create this super secret GPP what the hell did they think would happen.
Nvidia was hoping to keep the terms a secret. If it wasn't for AMD and Kyle then we would have been unaware of it, and would have seen the inevitable rebrands as a decision by the AIBs. Essentially, AMD spoiled their plans and caused the GPP to die. Also, from what I'm reading, the decision to kill the GPP probably wasn't done solely from bad PR. There was talk about how they might get in trouble with the FTC and the EU, and how companies like Dell and HP were refusing to join. They probably thought it would be better to kill it off now before things got too hairy.

"GPP had a simple goal – ensuring that gamers know what they are buying and can make a clear choice." and "With GPP, we asked our partners to brand their products in a way that would be crystal clear. The choice of GPU greatly defines a gaming platform. So, the GPU brand should be clearly transparent – no substitute GPUs hidden behind a pile of techno-jargon." What a load of bull. Anyone who builds their own PCs knows what we are buying

Wow, just wow. The way they worded it makes it all seem as if they are the victims here......

I guess there were some legal ramifications looming on the horizon, so they pulled the plug before it could get any worse.

Great! Now, can they focus on important stuff like maybe...updating the Controlpanel? It's 2018 for Christ's sake. I like nVidia, they make the fastest cards but this GPP was utter crap.

Yeah I think ASUS came out more damaged than nvidia out of this whole thing...
Yeah, I'd been a faithful ROG man for years, four mobos and a couple of their cards....but should I get a new GPU and Mobo, you can be sure that they won't be Asus. Hell, any brand other than Asus will be getting my money.

We do this work because we know gamers love it and appreciate it. Gamers want the best GPU tech. GPP was about making sure gamers who want NVIDIA tech get NVIDIA tech.
Sure were not making what I personally want. So you aren't speaking for me. Thanks for the corporate double speak lol.

This is the height of sophistry, aka a crock of scheisse.

@Romulusut33e Rally? In what way better? Did prices drop? Lol @Everyone else whining about it The ppl that know what brand/naming etc is a nv and which one is amd, dont need gpp (akq ppl in this forum), and everyone else would have gained information without needing "our" background or having to do research. And lol at ppl now saying they wont buy certain brands. So lets assume something goes wrong (lets disregard how/why/wherefor a sec) and the only brand that would sell the chip/product "you need" to play certain games would only come from company X (you wont buy from), you would rather get nothing?! How many of you have an intel cpu coming from a company that has been fined multiple times for doing worse things than this? Rofl.

everybody in tech is a pos well its so good for us now amd can just do what they have been doing rebrands and franken chips. hooray for us we maybe just moved back two steps, they don't need to come out fighting they can just cry and everyone kisses their ass

GPP had a simple goal – All your brand names are belong to us.

im almost disappointed we didnt get to see the yearlong class-action lawsuit that was clearly impending. not at all surprised the big OEMs balked.

NVidia is scumy doush like and smart enough now there is no gpp to cut off a few "partners" just for the hell of it. I guess hp and other oem's wont mind....they will start there own oem's lol that's crazy but what if? oh great I can see it now "ipear" brand all up in our faces

AMD has its own partner program since 2015. Not talking about exclusive vendors, which is far worse. Sapphire, PowerColor, ASRock etc. They sure stuck with AMD not of their own will.
Lol What? "Not talking..." Then don't, because you know very little on how those came to be. And there is huge difference between exclusivity and this poop throwing program which takes gaming out of gaming for sake of branding and bragging. And for that reason EVGA is just fine, they can make nVidia GPUs only and I still like them.

This pretty much means nothing. Any company/vender that could not think for themselves were doomed to start with.

what? 1030 gaming, 1050 gaming are a gaming cards? some radeon 460 gaming is a gaming card? Please...AIB's took gaming out of the gaming all by themselves a long time ago. AIBs are the scum. Not nV and AMD (as much). To be clear, I don't care for any brand in particular. They are all in it for the money. They (all of the brands, AMD included) just want more money. The rest is PR b$.

everything with gaming on it sells better

So as you obviously doesn't know anything of GPP. It doesn't take gaming out of gaming.
