Like I said months ago "I will wait for a 12gb titan 2". Hurry up and release it nvidia, money is waiting for card and waterblock. I wont even put this is my machine until I have a waterblock on it.
This is the freaking series I been waiting for. Cant wait for a couple geforce variants for sli. As is nothing is worth upgrading to 970 is a minor down grade to my cards and 980 a minor upgrade.

12GB RAM, massive die, and will cost 10 pure souls and 2000 liters of virgin blood.
Can i have those virgins to do some fun before you get the blood? 🤓

Im waiting for the GTX 980Ti before I sell my 780's

I got my 780 rather cheap back then ~320€, dont regret it now that I see how it stacks against 970/980... Probably won't bother with initial GM200 or at least wait until it drops €€€ a bit. Im planing to stick @ 1080p for a while and this OC'ed 780 is enough for that. 🤓

Same here about price drops. Unfortunately i'm still waiting for "next gen" nvidia. Gtx 570 serve me well, i don't thing i will change it earlier . Lack of "opponent" competition not driving tech industry mad to make changes so quick.

This would be a nice upgrade but I think I'm just going to wait for Skylake and do it all at once.

. . . . . It's hard to get excited about high end cards these days, by the time you blink they are being matched by a mid range card that is a fraction of the price.
There's a very simple solution . . . . . don't blink. 🙂

"780 stacks against 970/980 ":bang: -- not even close,on some games it`s close to 970 but not even close to a 980,even reference/stock one.

i imagine -Tj-could beat you minimum frames in monster hunter rather easily, that goes for any 980 out there. just sayin, personally the 6gb 780s are very tempting right now.

:bang::bang: lol 😀 Dont get me started. So now that you have 980gtx you had to defend your purchase, yes I would too if I'd payed 500€+ for slight perf. increase.. I mentioned Oc'ed and yeah I've seen what it does e.g. Monster Hunter Online, other games, eg. OC'ed 1200mhz+ it surpasses stock 780Ti speeds.

This type of news will never ever end, there will allways be the next new gpu next new gpu next new gpu next new gpu next new gpu next new gpu next new gpu next new gpu next new gpu next new gpu next new gpu ..............Infinity......................

pricing is important, would be nice to see the titan blacks taking a big reduction to clear out the old stock. if this leads the way to some kinda 980ti then great. (6gb vram would be peachy) I'd say titan2 - £800, knocking titanB down to 550 -600.

thanks for that fascinating insight

@-Tj- the same way you you keep defending your "old" card 🙄 S#!%, what you want ME to say. i running a 750ti right now 😛uke2: well, at least enough for rivals/F1/Hawx 2 until some new stuff is out...

Right, I dont mind if its now "slow" @ stock, I didnt pay much in the first place 🙂 He just got upset, because I said mine now old high-end if OC'ed can almost reach his speeds, by some games even surpasses min fps. Anyway, back on topic; I think normal GF variant won't be more then 500-600$/€, it kinda always was no? When both release its next-gen AMD 380x, nvidia this GF 1080Ti?, then all current top 290x/780Ti & 980gtx will drop to 300-350€/$ for sure. But I saw some news about Maxwell Double Precision not so long ago, it said there won't be any DP with Maxwell like by Kepler GK110 Titan models. While they skip DP, it will save power for other gpu parts e.g. more FP32 FPUs and higher clocks. http://www.kitguru.net/components/graphic-cards/anton-shilov/nvidia-will-not-use-maxwell-architecture-for-tesla-hpc-accelerators/
While Nvidia’s forthcoming “big” “Maxwell” graphics processing unit for ultra-high-end graphics cards (code-named GM200) was supposed to support FP64 floating point units, it looks like Nvidia decided not to include them into the chip, if it rules out usage of “Maxwell” GPUs for Tesla cards. The exclusion of complex hardware blocks will allow Nvidia to increase the number of FP32 FPUs, which will positively affect graphics processing performance of the GM200.
By the way, the current Tesla has continued to use the architecture of the "Kepler" generation, but I wonder if there is that these are switched to Maxwell. Mr. Lin about this, was clearly deny the possibility. Says, "Maxwell will not be used in such a way of Tesla because there is no double-precision (floating-point unit). (Then) the double precision enters becomes to Pascal" and things. This means that of 2015 NVIDIA, although promote the transition to Maxwell in the graphics field, but not so that will continue to expand the Kepler in the HPC field.

I will upgrade when the performance of one card can out perform my 2x GTX780s
data/avatar/default/avatar37.webp
Sounds interesting but I will not upgrade my GPU for at least 2-3 years or stick another 290 in there if I so desire to but I really do not want to deal with the burden of having 2 cards though.

There is nothing to defend,I only hate ppl speaking bs about their cards, and this is not the first time when u praise you card like is something from another planet. So you have to OC your card to get close to a 780ti stock and then you say that you are "close to 980"...lel,maybe u mean to say that you are close to 970 coz 980 is out of your league. Minimum fps better with 780?Keep dreaming and start saving money for a better card!

So Titan 2, gonna cost a ton and suckers will buy
Isn't it almost impossible for Nvidia to do this? I thought the DP performance on Maxwell was too low. IE isn't this more likely to be a Quadro first, then a 980Ti to run against AMDs flagship around launch? CDJay
