I've a sneaking suspicion that Nvidia have had to rejig the specs on the entire product stack since 4080 debacle

RTX 4070 Series - How many Streaming Multiprocessors FP32 does the card have?

4070 could be cut to 220w by using gddr6.

newer GDDR6x modules are not using all that much power, my 3090 uses ~88W on the memory @19.5Gbps while 4090 use ~65W at 21Gbps in game, GDDR6 @ 18Gbps probably use the same or more power

Can't blame Nvidia for charging $900 for a 4070Ti. Gamers completely lost their minds and gobbled up 3070Ti's for $800-$900 when they became available at that price toward the end of the mining craze, and that POS card only has 8GB of ram. Got no one to blame but ourselves for being so impulsive and stupid.

Gamers didn't gobble anything up. In Q3 their gaming revenue tanked by over 50% compared to previous year. Selling a couple of hundred thousand units of your top tier cards will never make up for the bottom falling out.

Better than a 160bit 10gb what was the original rumor. Now lets see the price.

Maybe that moved to the xx60/ti stuck .... Makes me wonder if they just shifted the whole line by 1 position.

This, like the higher end 4080/4090 series, represents a paradigm shift in pricing, for the worst I might add. With LeatherJacket proclaiming "Moore's Law is dead", he's justifying and giving himself license to raise the price of all the cards. Assuming the rumors are true, IF the RTX 4070 Ti goes for 899USD, what about the 4070 then? Knowing nGreedia, they might price it at, say, 750USD. That'd prolly mean the RTX 4060 might start at above 500USD. Sure, some might scoff at my conjecture, but let's wait and see nGreedia's pricing for the upcoming lower end GPUs. I think with the 4000 series, the milk and honey days of sub-500USD RTX xx60 are over.

Leather Jacket man is doing whatever market allows him to do. If people keep buying he will happily oblige.

Which is why it frustrates me to see sheep being led to slaughter......willingly. Some are actually happy with the present situation, hailing an nGreedia win for Chrissakes.

The bolded part is tech correct aswer. The "Moore`s law is dead", that i agree, is just an excuse to raise prices like crazy, but if in the end people continue to buy GPUs at those prices, then it means is right to milk gamers...

I'll gladly take 10G g6 4060/ti, should be around 200W, ~3080 performance in raytracing. tbh that's all that matters to me. energy efficiency and rt performance. for rasterization my 3060Ti does more than enough, I wouldn't even upgrade it for that.

what is your advice for those sheep then ?

Avoid 10gb card as its not enough despite the rt performance. 4070 12gb sounds much more appealing.
