Card is fine, it just suffers from poor pricing and average cooler.

Overclock performance results are nice but still not worth the price from a gaming point of view.

indeed, it's a niche card for the rich lets face it. it's for the young lads in Cali whose parents don't give a damn.

Damn dat backplate in the thermal image, looks more like a cooking plate 😀 Anyways, it seems the performance is there compared to the 295x2, but the Price is completely off... I'm not even sure why they pushed the release of this Card, it's only going to hurt them. Perhaps not financially, but their image does.

"Overpriced" meaning can't cover even 1% of what this card is... I could be Bill Gates and still not get this, 2xTitan Blacks > this, performance and cost but still even then it's immensly overpiced. Even the 295x is overpriced, it's just insane really. I can only hope that things will change with the new generation of cards but I doubt it.

Yeah it's just genuinely hard to take this card seriously. It did take a better OC than I expected, still can't save it from it's own enormous shadow.

3000 USD? :stewpid: Yes Nvidia, I can afford it, it's just plain STUPID to buy this thing.

Thank you for this review. I can't imagine any gamer buying this card. While it seems that this card is aimed at workstations, the price is still absurd. For this, you can get 2x Titan Black, water kit to cool them, and still leave with some $$$ left.

Cheers for the review, the Radeon flagship card FTW then! Just one point about your reviews you pretty much always say in your overclocking section, regardless of how much of an overclock you get on your graphics cards that: "Overall we have been able to get another 5 to 10% performance out of those graphics cards." You seem to copy & paste this from each graphics card review - it's a little annoying & sloppy as with your overclock on this card you actually managed to achieve a 9-20% performance improvement with your overclock. Can you at least calculate & report accurate percentages in future, it's the most important number when considering an overclock in terms of performance, and for you to simply cut and paste "Overall we have been able to get another 5 to 10% performance out of those graphics cards" in each of your graphics card reviews is incorrect & sloppy. Apart from this I think your reviews are great.

"Overall we have been able to get another 5 to 10% performance out of those graphics cards" refers to all the cards in the table as a group, not specifically the card being reviewed

Wow... Titan Z is pathetic. In every test it failed to beat GTX780ti 2-way SLI and that setup only costs a 3rd of the price.

I disagree. Firstly they'd have to revise that to "5-20%" for that to even make sense, but I'm quite certain they're not referring to all the the graphics cards in the table. That wouldn't make sense, it's a review of the Titan Z, they're only talking about overclocking the Titan Z, and the only overclocked result in that table is the Titan Z, ergo they're referring to the Titan Z! I believe they said 'graphics cards' (plural) because Titan Z is a dual GPU board, hence plural, more than one GPU. I still think they should report % overclock more accurately rather than just seemingly cutting & pasting the same "5-10%" from one article to the next.

It amaze me how majority of you still buy and defend Nvidia unbelievable. AMD is the way to be used for games, gamers should embrace them instead of this money grabbing bastards. 2x AMD 290x for 900 euros these are gamer friendly prices. Don't be a thief of your own wallet:P

Excellent review Hilbert, very professional...the card is overprized....even a 780 is more then enough for any game out there....after this review is clear that i will go with another 780 in the future ......hope its going to be enough for 4k.

Don't be a silly fanboy. If you're wise, you'll buy whichever card makes most sense for you personally, and don't make sweeping judgements based on the brand name. I agree that AMD cards are often better value for money, but you have to understand that some people want different things. For example, I wanted the absolute fastest single GPU card and I wanted PhysX among other things that Nvidia offer. If AMD bring out a card that makes more sense, I'll buy that. It's also getting old hearing gamers judging this card purely as gaming card. Obviously that makes no sense.

considering its floating point performance is way higher (~40% higher if i recall) than any 295x or 780ti sli, it could fit into the professional market. the only thing i'm gonna bash nvidia is about the cooling i guess? i'm not exactly sure. the card got a really good boost in the overclock section with the reference cooler. i do believe that 3rd parties like asus will slap on that sexy directcuii cooler on it and be able to overclock it higher than what hilbert did. only THEN it could be a good card. in any case i don't think this card is marketed properly. it's marketed as a 'gaming' card. it's a hybrid between a gaming and workstation card. it's pretty obvious it's not worth it for gaming. oh, and.. people will buy it. i saw some girl streamer on twitch a few weeks back, i believe she was playing dota 2? had 2x 290x and an intel extreme edition if i'm not mistaken. for dota 2.. which runs maxed on my 560 non-ti.. she even mentioned the only thing he does with her pc is play dota 2 and do her homework. you will always find people stupid enough to buy such technology even if they don't need it..

No it is a generic comment listed onthe page with all overclocked graphics cards. I'll revise the text a little to make that more clear. It baffles me a bit that when I write 30 pages of content including FLIR thermal imaging, tweaking, photo shoots, UHD testing, FCAT, generic testing etc etc ... this is apparently the stuff what people complain about.

yup it beats both 780 ti and 295x2 in double precision. In single amd rules. But yeah amd 295x2 has some less dp then 7990. And 2x Titan Blacks beat Titan Z in dp so yeah :e even 2x titans beat it. In single precision amd rules easy. And stupid people buying overpowered tech is so normal 😀
