Popup was there, but very minimal. Certainly cleanest open terrain map we've ever seen https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0zjPiGVSnfI
Yeah IDK, I thought it looked really good. But then again I think everything on that engine looks really good. I love the new UT maps, LOVE them. And the performance -- doesn't even require a Titan X to play.
No need to defend it.. I like UE too, but not that much to ignore such flaws.. Yes its minimal, but its still there by few rocks and shadows, and once you notice that you see it every time. Well thought they used that seamless trasition by now, guess its strictly for U5E.
It was implemented in 4.7 which has only been out for three days. Although obviously the epic team involved with making this demo probably had it for longer -- but who knows, it might be built on an older build. This isn't to mention that the only time I notice it is when the camera is panning and zooming around the large world really quick. It probably happens far less when moving at a normal pace. Plus I'm sure they'll improve it further.

So back to GM200, Geforce will indeed have 6gb vram frame buffer then, guess they needed to "use Titan" so it looks more badass with 12gb vram..

This is yet another attempt by Nvidia to artificially inflate the prices of their GPU's. That is all the TITAN's are for. They sure as hell don't expect to sell many of them. It is just so they can charge more for their actual gamer GPU's. If this is $1,000 then you can bet that the 980Ti or GTX1080 will be $750! We now need AMD to counter and show off the R9 390X and them proclaim it to be the worlds fastest GPU and we can have a show down between the two. If AMD comes anywhere close to the TITAN X in performance but costs $600 then it will be an awesome price war between the two... in the end great for us! Even if the R9 390X is only 10% slower than the TX but cost nearly half the price Nvidia will be in trouble.
Isn't the 390X rumoured to have some ridiculous liquid cooling solution? I highly doubt it will be anywhere near the $600 price point.

No rumors, just a cooling solution similar to the 295X. And this will probably allow itS users to clock it to (eventually) be just as fast as at least a stock Titan X on air. Next question: WHEN?!?

Would have to be crazy to buy one after how Nvidia screwed over Titan customers the first time. Released the 780 three months later for half the price? Then release the Titan Black which was marginally quicker, then the 780Ti which was quicker / on par for half the price 295X2 for £600. I bet its still quicker than a £1200 Titan X

Why would you buy a Titan for gaming anyway?

Why would you buy a Titan for gaming anyway?
I suspect we'll see an answer to this when people with a 4k/5k monitor try to run stuff like Project Cars, Witcher 3, Star Citizen, GTA V etc 😉 That 12GB is essential. Actually necessary. People can bleat about things just being console ports for the next few years but given that they have ~4GB of GPU memory and are targeting 1080p it's going to require more than that for 4k on PC. Right now it'll just be enthusiasts, who will need more than one of these cards to run 4k properly tbh, but it at least sets things on the path they need to be going forward. I still can't believe the 980 launched with 4gb. Madness. CDJay

Hah, you can imagine what kinda GPU power is needed to fully utilize all that 12gb vram? Its not possible even with GM200.
data/avatar/default/avatar34.webp
12GB was an easy decision for Nvidia. 1) Of course it won't be fully utilized by any game in the foreseeable future. But then again it doesn't have to be fully utilized duh... And instead it will be appreciated for anything that goes over 6GB. 2) Every new arch brings more VRAM to the table. Many reasons for this... 3) Why not? They're going to charge you anyway, might just as well get more of it. 4) GPGPU nuff said

I would imagine at least two of them would be needed.

Yeah, I see most people using this card in a SLI config. That's where it actually makes sense, technically, if not financially. Still, it'll last longer and cost less than buying a new iPhone every year... (which doesn't seem to be held to the same standards as PC gaming, for reasons I'm not sure I've worked out, despite the need to "constantly upgrade" being levelled as the reasons console gaming is better than PCs by people who own iMacs and iPhones thus causing me terminal bewilderment) Yes, it's expensive. No, it isn't a smart day one purchase. Obviously there will be a 6gb consumer model launched when AMD force them to. Doesn't make me want it any less. 🙂 CDJay

Hey ho, the new Titan X! Thanks for posting Rich guy. Like i said months ago "I will take a 12Gb Titan over anything else":D Anyhow aslong as the price is right ie around £1000 i will be definitely grabbing this on release day. However i wont be using until a full waterblock becomes available.:)

I can wait for the non titan versions, buying more audio gear now tbh

Awaiting prices and to see if it's a cut GM200. If it's around $1K and a full GM200 I may pick one up for now and a second when Pascal comes out. A single Titan X should wipe the floor with my current setup.

Only be on a 384-bit but, though, the 390X has HBM on a 512 bit... 😀 With any luck we'll see 8 GB versions off the bat.

It will likely be cut. If you don't need DP or 12GB of memory, then the 980 Ti would be a better option.
