Oh, another change of 4080 core number? 🙄

So maybe instead of $12-1600 the new version will cost $11-1500? Awesome can't wait.

I've read on another site that the estimated cost reduction is 1$/gpu. So the MSRP for customers will not change... But that dollar adds up when you sell many GPUs. Jensen needs new spatulas lol.

What about the 4090? Still going to be $2000? 4090Ti to be $4000? Keep doing it Nvidia and you will see how your marketshare drops. There is no reason to buy either of them right now and until AMD has something that can compete, you probably have something faster and cost even more which nobody needs. Good luck

Its already for sale on a few models, Palit and Gainward Phantom for 1350e so about 50-100 cheaper. PCB is the one from 4070ti.
Does this means that the "new" 4080s are smaller than the other ones or are they still using the same gigantic coolers as before?
data/avatar/default/avatar12.webp
Yeah we're okay with smaller cooler for $1000 price. Give us that NVidia. 🙂

I've seen reports that manufacturing costs might drop by $1 per unit. That is once they've updated their pcb designs, cooling solutions, changed the production tooling and run a QA process on the new product!

Look at the smaller PCB (unlike the tall one inherited from 4090) This will make the card more compatible with a big percentage of PC cases (210mm +/-) where the original one had issues fitting in the new power connector+adapter (too long).

The PNY 4070 Ti XLR8 has a really narrow PCB as well, it's very 12VHPR friendly. It sits pretty much at the same level as the PCI bracket, maybe 3 mm wider than that.

How can their market share drop if if no one is buying AMD either?

Intel? 🙄

Are we seriously getting exited for some lousy price drop? The 80 class gpu will still cost 1000$ or more. Nvidia needs to do better than that.

Yeah right? And the sad part is AMD ain't no better. They had to be more aggressive in pricing given that they are underdog. 7900xt should be priced around 600$

Both 4070ti and 7900xt should be 600$. Let me know when that happens maybe i'll upgrade. :P

I wanted to make a smart joke here but thinking about it, nobody knows when that will be, with all the excuses Nvidia and AMD have for price gauging.

This generation has been rubbish for pricing. I'm going to wait what the next generation will bring but I'm not holding my breath. May end up being that I'll use and abuse my 3080 as long as humanly possible.

Me too . But not into 600$ category. This stagnant market situation is affecting the 2nd hand market too. 2nd hand sellers are also trying to be an NVIDIA in that area. Sun is setting everyday, me is getting older slowly, but the gpu price isn't going down.... Sad life bro.

I feel bad for NV1060 or AMD 480/580 owners - barely any performance upgrade when paying the same price as those aforementioned cards at ~£150-£200/$150-$200 If their cards die and they pay the same price for a new card, depending on their hardware environment, they could even see a reduction in performance as well as reduced features too (6400 and 6500 cards with low amount of pcie lanes and reduced media subset).
