I can already see next generation 5040 half-width card (replacement for the 1030) with 4 GB vram being sold at $249 ... "because inflation"

Good replacement for the venerable gtx1060 which launched at 300usd too

$199 for the 3GB edition, $249 for the 6GB edition and $299 for the terrible founders edition blower.

And no AIB sold 1060 6GB for under 300usd for a least 6 months after launch. Same with 1080 8GB, every AIB 1080 sold for more than 700usd when MSRP was 600usd Now AIB has to sell 4060 at exactly 300usd, since people can buy 4060 FE at 300usd

Wasn't the case in the UK, it was really competitively priced with the RX 480 Edit: Although prices went up in 2017 with the mining boom that happened back then

Used market exists. You can buy a 3060ti for 300$. There is really no room for the 4060 and 7600 in the current market.

4060 would be 10% behind 3060Ti while using 100W less, with the benefit of FG, there is no point buying ex-mining 3060Ti at 300usd over 4060 LOL

Buying a used 3060Ti, thats a big gamble over a new 4060 if priced the same bud, certainly if the 4060 performs better with/without DLSS.

There is room for DLSS 3.

DLSS3 and FG are supported in 35 games atm. If this card is depending on these technologies to make games playable, is that not going to be a problem? It would be a better selling point when more games, particularly popular and new ones, are supported.

Not if those games are the ones that mid range gamers are playing. People buy a con sole for just one or two games, the same no doubt happens for GPUs.

To any would be DLSS3 buyers: - Connect your PC to a modern TV - Set it into "Movie" mode - Turn on frame interpolation ("smooth video" or whatever the name is for your TV) And try playing something that is 30fps, going to "60" in the TV's generated frames. It's going to be smooth motion... but HORRIBLY LAGGY. That's DLSS3 on anything below 4080 or 4090. Congratulations for your choice !

Talking like a complete noob seems to be fad around here

why ? do they always have to use max available settings and aim for 30fps, even on a $299 card ? seems like it's better to set it to run at 60 fps natively using a mixture of settings, and only then enable dlss2/3 for 90/120+ [youtube=f1n1sIQM5wc]

the technology is 9 months old, for me that's quite a lot, more are coming and the competition offers zero.

the 3G was doa, and polaris was a strong competitor, unlike rdna3.

No one should rely on frame generation when you can buy faster card for the same money. 4060ti is 12% faster than 3060ti so how would regular 4060 compare? 10-15% slower probably. Not to mention you can grab 6700xt 12gb for 20-30$ more.

don't be surprised when the actual reviews come out and it's 30-40% over 7600 for lower power, and that's not even counting dlss3 you can enable to take 60 fps to over 100 regardless of the cpu you're using. compare 7600 to 6600xt, 10% max.

We are talking about 4060ti vs 3060ti. Thats pretty disappointing.
