Awful pricing with the 3080 ti

Kinda wish the price was closer to 999 but at the same time if I land one I'll easily sell my 3080 to cover the extra cost. I've in fact already got a buyer lined up we were just waiting on the details of the new card and if I successfully get one before agreeing to a number. But if it was MY money paying I'd certainly think twice on spending almost double for a Ti over the basic 3080. Though let's also remember even if I paid $699 for MY 3080 who can actually get one for anywhere near that price today?

And there people camping at Microcenter in Yonkers, NY smh. friend one of them, he calling sick for two days haha.

I previously projected the 3070 Ti at 200w based on gddr6x power savings, and increase in SM's active on a GA104 part. However the 3070 Ti appears to a GP102 so its 290w instead.

Yeah, especially since it's what 9 months after 3080/3090 release and MSRP will be a fantasy right now. But even so, people will be all over them. I would too if I could find one anywhere near that MSRP, which I won't, even though I know it's a terrible deal.

How will your friend feel if the Microcenter price is $2500?

He would be able to sell it for $4000 as he leaves the store though

He said "as long i get a GPU (RTX 3080 or 3080 Ti) in person, he going to pay it monthly. He been waiting since January for a GPU, i told him come with me in December when i got Reference model 6900 XT at Microcenter, he regrets his actions and want a GPU.

Considering that price tag I'm quite happy with my purchase of a 3090 after I got sick of waiting on a back order of a 3080. Think it should of been 999 as people say here, at that price point the 3090 is only a tad more and you'll never get vram issues. I am curious how they're getting these chips because the 3090 was a slightly cut full version, and these are barely cut down from that. Wonder if they're artificially cutting them or how the bin process is working on it

RTX 3090 is better quality price/performance for VRAM size because it will can run more (many) future games than 3080 Ti at specs recommended in next +/-5 years.

Considering the 3080 is supposed to be $700, the Ti variant in a sane world should be $800. $1200 is already ridiculous, but these will probably cost twice that anyway and they'll be gone in an instant and never restocked, so not like it matters.

Yeah, 3090 was much cheaper at launch than this 3080 ti is gonna be.

Undying:

"Shameless money grab?" Yet its nvidia thats adhering to its RRP's, and not cancelling products (and locked in pre-orders) to cheap out on a backplate and jack up the price. Can you even get a 6800/6900 for RRP?
