I find a value of 3000 or so DPI to be sensitive enough even if the g700s supports more but I guess the DPI race is still on if they're going as far as 16.000 with this mouse. :P (Is there any precision at all at that setting?)

They are doing it all wrong. It should be pretty F obvious by now that the weakest link in mouse input precision and overall usability is NOT the mouse sensitivity (DPI), but the interaction with mousepad.

I guess it could work on triple 4k screens or similar setup, even though I still think 16,000 DPi would be too much even for that resolution. My G502 goes up to 12,000 DPi but I only use 1,200 DPi.

Nay! The weakest link is the low level of caffeine in 00:01am when I can barely think, let alone micro properly. StarCraft woes aside, always used some cheapo MS/Logitech mouse and they are quite good prom perf:price point. So, 16,000 dpi + 50G + 179.99EUR in a mouse is like going for triple TitanX - me got money to burn.

I use 8400DPI (mouse maximum) and i lower windows sensitivity and hope for increased precision that way. High DPI + low sensitivity = more accuracy right?

I'm still on my 5600 DPI razer naga hex. I need to upgrade though, middle mouse button is acting up.

Does anyone actually use such insanely high DPI settings? I have a 8200 DPI CM Havoc mouse and I usually use 4000 DPI (OS speed 50%) which is more than enough. I don't even keep 8000+ as a setting to switch to. I saved 3K, 4K, 5K, and 6K as my 4 presets to switch between on the fly, and I never find myself using 6K. I almost always use 3 or 4K, and the only reason I don't use a lower setting is I don't like moving my mouse around lot, I'm afraid I'd injure my wrist from repetition. Most the pro gamers that I've seen mention their settings use much lower DPI settings and just move their arms a lot.

I use 1800 with my Naga Epic, I can't imagine 5k let alone 16k :3eyes:.

Correct but not all games let you go low enough on the sensitivity

i've been running 800 dpi since the glorious days of the Logitech mx500 first launched. i used to own the mamba 2012 but the first one i owned had issues with the side buttons falling off & bad tracking on a razer vespula, and the second one (provided via RMA) just had bad tracking, and within 18 months a horrendous squeak on the left click. personally i'd be more interested in them increasing the build quality than the DPI, the 6400 DPI on the mamba 2012 was more than enough, my FPS games of choice do not have low enough sensitivity settings to cater for such a ludicrous DPI setting. i swapped the Mamba 2012 for a logitech G602 wireless mouse, it runs at 500hz and a max of 2500 DPI (which is still too high for me tbh) and never looked back. on the plus side, that chroma lighting looks sexy as hell, i've always liked the look of the razer peripherals 🙂

My Cyborg R.A.T mouse goes up to 6,400 PDI and I too only use around 1,500...

Do the wired products provide that much better input delay? Or is it about other reliability issues with the connection? An odd thing I noticed is that my Dualshock 4 controller has under 2ms (usually 1.3-1.7ms) input delay with a terrible generic Bluetooth dongle that I must have bought a decade+ ago. But if I wire it (it uses micro USB 2) it has a constant 4ms input delay. Makes me wonder what the difference is for mice. And for anyone considering a Sony DS4 controller, keep in mind it's incredibly flimsy compared to past generations because (like the Xbone controller) it uses a lot of clips rather than screws so it's nowhere near as sturdy as past iterations. Not to mention the price is insanity, it's $79 (any store) here before 13% tax. I only bought one because it was on sale. That and I had 3 Xbone controllers prior to this and all 3 were defective.

the razer mamba 2012 advertised its response time as 1ms on wireless - but you need to have the mouse configured to a polling rate of 1000hz (which was easily achieved in the razer software). I imagine the 2015 model will be at the same 1ms response time. Not sure if they made any improvements on that (not even sure if this would even be possible) but when i used my mamba 2012 i didn't really notice an issue with input delay / lag when on wireless. you get the competetive "pro" players saying the delay is unacceptable, and to an extent they're right - any additional delay can be the difference between winning and losing, but for the majority of us this isn't as big of an issue as it is made out to be. if you run the mamba in wired mode its response time will be identical to a regular wired mouse (like the deathadder to make a direct comparison). the only other thing to consider with a wireless device is RFI causing issues - but again this isn't as bad as it sounds.

for that price it better have tilt wheel in 4 directions. then again i dont like the shape of razer mouses. Any mouse mouse claiming to be gaming mouse that dont have 4 way tilt wheel in thiss day in age is doing it wrong and cheating people, special with price like that

Marketing bull****. DPI != Accuracy.
