Things coming to my mind: They saved money by refurbishing older buildings, so how old can they be in Silicon Valley, maybe 20 years? That's hardly anything for a properly built structure... so they wanted to save money? Nvidia is making so much money they should actually tile their toilets with it ๐Ÿ™„ They obviously did change the 'upper' half of the area, with smaller, seperated houses. Looks like they didn't want to afford another big building, or did not need it. Those smaller houses look like east Asian pavillons at an expo ๐Ÿ˜€

They refurbished a building because no company in their right mind would put themselves through the years of beaurocratic bullsh*t, environmental lawsuits, impact studies, and all the other insanity the state of California ties up businesses with. Combine that with the state's massive pension debt, insane property and income taxes, and the most unbusiness-friendly state government run by old marxist hippies and progressive community organizers that have never had a private sector job in their lives.... i'm actually shocked they didn't leave for Texas or another pro-business state.

Just to let you know, in other parts of the world the process you described is normal for projects of such a size and matter. I'm not sure what the state pension debt has to do with Nvidia building their new headquaters, but it's a shame that you can actually do what you want in Texas, as I read you put it. ๐Ÿ˜‰ All those troubles are coming from faulty planing and management. If they would have known the costs before, they would not have bothered to pay an architect to work out a concept that's too expensive anyway. It reads like they do have got money, they do have the permits to build, but then suddenly they refurbished instead of building those two big buildings, and now changed the concept. It looks odd to me.

Well if people would stop buying their Titan video cards they would not be in this situation.

Or you know, they could just feel the need to expand as they're targeting more markets nowadays. But hell, lets go get pitchforks for companies that feel the need to expand. :wanker:

The least of their far superior market share actually is the Titan. If people would stop buying nvidia cards in total, then you might be right, but leaving the Titan out alone would make little difference ๐Ÿ˜‰
