tunejunky:

imho there should be a some kind of official rite of passage for when adult children leave your cellular and media acc'ts.
I think the immediate panic and boredom they experience is the rite of passage lol

I would happily leave netflix, I only have an account because its shared with mutiple people... we do pay for 4 screens netflix, whats the point if we cannot do that Anyway it's an amusing time when Netflix are looking for ways to charge more and more, and Crunchyroll have just dropped their price from £7.99 to 4.99 a month, what a lovely time to be an anime fan 😀

I think it would be more beneficial for Netflix to make actually good shows for people to watch to make more money instead of trying to stop people from sharing accounts.

Idk how it works in other countries but here, only 1 user can watch content at the same time (unless u pay extra, ofc) and a user can only be active in a single device at a time. So "sharing" between "houses" is a common but very cumbersome practice where only 1 house/device can watch content at a time, the same way only 1 user in the same house could. Trying to charge extra for this is bullshit. Exactly as expected of any 21 century corporation.

Netflix loses almost a million subscribers After the new abhorrent Resident Evil attempt of a series and all the other absolutely awful shows being put out on the service I can't possibly think of a reason why............................................................

Microsoft might snap up Netflix - Vole adverts plan could be the beginning of a take over Software King of the World Microsoft might be thinking of snapping up the streaming outfit Netflix. Needham’s senior analyst Laura Martin said that the acquisition could give Netflix a way out of its rubbish figures. Its subscribers is falling and shares plummeting since last year. A few days ago the two companies signed an agreement where Vole managed Netflix advertisements for reduced-price subscriptions, although why anyone sane would want adverts on Netflix even if it lowered subscription prices. But for Martin this is a clear sign of Netflix’s rapprochement with Microsoft, which could lead to an even more important deal in the future. “Maybe Netflix is looking for an exit,” Laura Martin. It is trying to get closer to Microsoft n the hope that after Vole completes the acquisition of Activision Blizzard, it will buy Netflix.” Microsoft could support a $ 100 billion acquisition like Netflix’s and receive approval from regular bodies, such as the FTC, given that other giants like Google and Amazon already have proprietary streaming services. it would allow Microsoft to enter the market for TV and movie streaming services which it has wanted to be since the days of Sir William Gates III. Potentially there could be important implicationsto the gaming side or a maxi-subscription which includes both Xbox Game Pass and Netflix. source - https://www.fudzilla.com/news/55159-microsoft-might-snap-up-netflix

Netflix Will Not Give You Access to All Content with the New Ad-Supported Tier Netflix has decided to implement a two-pronged strategy to ensure that there is a revenue boost in the coming months. Aside from the fact that the streaming platform will be charging more for sharing passwords and the fact that it is working on a cheaper, ad-supported subscription plan. Details about the upcoming ad-supported tier have come to light. The Ad-Supported Netflix Subscription Tier Does Not Seem to Look Nice So Far Netflix's co-CEO and Chief Content Officier Ted Sarandos has shared some details about the new tier during a recent earnings call. According to Deadline, Sarandos has talked about how the ad-supported Netflix subscription plan will be rolling out to users next year, and the company is partnering with MIcrosoft for the rollout. While users will get access to all the original programs, some of the licensed content will not be available for cheaper tier. Sarandos said, “Today, the vast majority of what people watch on Netflix, we can include in the ad-supported tier. There’s some things that don’t and we’re in conversations with the studios on, but if we launched the product today, members in the ad-tier would have a great experience. We will clear some additional content but certainly not all of it but don’t think it’s a material holdback for the business.” In a letter to shareholders, Netflix further added that the ad-supported tier will first debut in a “handful of markets where advertising spend is significant.” At the moment, we have no details about the upcoming ad-supported plan, but based on the information we have, it does not seem like it will be pleasing everyone. source - https://wccftech.com/netflix-will-not-give-you-access-to-all-content-with-the-new-ad-supported-tier/

I think they pay the price for going for quantity over quality five years ago.

Netflix quality went straight down the gutter, they rode the breaking bad, walking dead, tv show golden era straight to the toilet. They misjudged the market and thought we wanted retconned "woke" butchered tv shows based off of existing stories.
