I agree because of the price Nvidia is aking for it. ItΒ΄s not like the 3070Ti is a mid range card anymore...
Those first leaks about 3070ti 16gb and 3080ti 20gb ware something to be desired.

Msi needs a plumber! They leak ..eeeverything πŸ˜›

I know it's not my target card either, but... nobody's questioning those leaks since they mention a 3080 with only "8G"? Does that mean 8GB VRAM? Sounds implausible...

Most recently resident evil villlage.
The demo runs at a solid 60fps @1440p with high settings on my 6gb card. Sure it can use more Vram but like most games in recent times the difference between Ultra and High is hardly noticeable. And even then its not really about really about Vram but more about the overall core power of a GPU. Control is a perfect example of that.

3070ti 8gb? That is just silly.
Pretty big fail if true imo

The question wasn't "vram doesn't matter" Undying said the game REQUIRE more than 8GB in 1440p, which is false... Are you too member of the "spam on the forum" crowd?
This is not technically false. It's using a little bit more than 8GB (according to Guru3D) but not enough to impact performance. At 4k with raytracing though performance tank on the RTX 3070 versus the RTX 2080 Ti (a phenomenon that was shown in CP 2077 too and likely other upcoming raytracing games). They are mostly equal at 1080p with raytracing and 1440p with raytarcing but at 4K with raytracing the RTX 2080 Ti is almost twice as fast as the RTX 3070. A 3070 Ti at the price it will be sold 8GB is a fail to me if true absolutely no doubts in my mind. You don't buy a card this price if you don't plan either 4k gaming or very high fps 1440p gaming. If you give me the choice right now to buy a brand new RTX 3070 or RTX 2080 Ti at the same price i'll go with the RTX 2080 Ti.

I am quite sad that the 3080 ti only get 12 gb of vram i might skip this one. I thought it will get @ least 16 gb of vram. Re village is not enough for 4k with a rtx 3080 with 10 gb vram it might work, but when it fills the vram to max u get either stutter or a game crash. Hell even on 1440p in the village part it can max out my vram pretty quick lol. Also its an amd favor game but still that 3080 ti needs more vram 12 gb is a joke for such a premium card.

Why didn't you buy 3090 at launch? 3080ti will be the same or more expensive than 3090 at launch LOL Do you have 3080 now?

Heres a gameplay of 1660ti that drops to 20fps at 1440p. Its that bad. This is one of the those when you have enough gpu power but not enough vram. [youtube=u1XiXcdtGrE]

I've watched that dude's video's and I like them, but I've also played the game for myself and did not encounter the low framerates he was having. Driver issue possibly? Refresh rate issue? But I'm not arguing, my card is a little over 2 years old now and I want my next one to have more Vram especially when PS5 exclusives start appearing on PC. But for the last two years and even now I'm very satisfied with my $279 gpu. What good is that extra 2 gigs of Vram doing you anyway? [youtube=b40sO1vaozY]

You played the demo, right? As you can see setting the quality performance went without issues, max settings framerate dropped to a crawl. Idk it looks like a memory limitation to me.

Not much but there are times my gpu runs better than yours. Doom eternal being one and RE village being the second one. I can use the max settings you know without fps dropping to 20. I guess 2gb extra is worth something.

Yet in the video you posted the Vram wasn't even hitting the max at 1440p. When I played the demo I was utilizing every single bit of 6gb and it never hit those kind of frames. So I don't know, maybe just some glitch with his system.

Game only sees around 7.8gb on the 8gb gpus so 1660ti have like 5.8gb available. It was hitting the limit. This is what happens when you try running the game on 2gb cards. Its exact same thing happening with 1660ti, different settings ofc. [youtube=8JuI5ZCQOBw]

What are you trying to prove exactly? I've played the demo, it ran perfectly fine with settings that suited my card's capabilities.

I know man, it's all good. It just sucks that we can't buy a new freakin GPU lol.

330$ for a 3060? That sounds like a dream at this point.
