Can, but doesn't really require. I played all those with max textures @ 6gb vram.. it used more system ram but didnt lag or stutter.

Astyanax:

FFXV Windows Edition can use up 9GB+ at 1440p maxed out with the Hi-Res Texture Pack installed. 9GB of VRAM usage on Infinity Warfare. Some games "cacheing" more if you have bigger vram. It's a difference between need and use 🙂 Windows use more RAM if you have more RAM. It uses less if you have less. It's all about cache.

caching in vram is better than caching in system shared.

My new replacementcard for msi trio X 2080ti (100% fanspeed bug) is Asus 2080ti white edition. It has 7400mhz stock memory 🙂 2085 mhz @ stock bios. This is one of the first cards I have seen with preovercloked memory on 2080ti. Gpu-z says samsung memory. 8200mhz is BF V stable 🙂

So that's why the Gaming X is out of stock.
