1349€ omg what is going on. I remember a time not too long ago when the top single gpu from nvidia was selling for like 500/600 bucks, everything gets more expensive and our salaries dont increase. Its not fair.

People should not buy these cards at these prices - that's the only way to get the prices to drop. Unfortunately that's wishful thinking...

There's no place for plebs in computer sector anymore. Go play Checkers! /s off I wonder what are yields on those chips and if it would make sense for them to be made in case card prices were actually reasonable.

I preordered 2x GeForce RTX 2080 Ti GAMING X TRIO 20. August from komplett.no here in Norway 🙂 Nvlink 4 slot space from nvidia.

I'm sorry but purely from a design pov MSI dropped the ball on the Gaming X line with this generation. Haven't seen an uglier card (both cooler and backplate) in a long while and all my cards since 2012 were MSI... I hope at least cooling performance will make up for it. Good thing I will skip this generation, at least at this prices, they can absolutely shove em. 😡 Damn nizzen, you must be a millionaire, I imagine these are even more insanely expensive in Norway with all the taxes you have there. Good for you though. Only downside is that this will only encourage nvidia with their milking, as I'm sure there will be a lot who will buy the cards no matter what, and they know it. So no, I don't expect we will ever see non-astronomical prices for high end cards ever again, unless AMD pulls a Ryzen move in the GPU market as well.

What does "preorder on August 30" even mean? I can pre-order them on all my favorite shops around here today already, probably could last week straight after the announce.

People blindly preordering GPUs is proof enough of that 🙁. New tech, dubious information, 7nm around the corner, who cares because Nvidia is the best 🙄!

Those prices are so insane I can't even swear at them. Just stop it. God damn crypto miners or whatever.

They said the new Qled monitor 65" 4K 120hz will be from 4000 to 6000 Euro ! so think I will just have a baby with the wife and be done with gaming

i can only assume there's a lot of GTX10xx in stock, those cards must be selled first.

i agree with your sentiment. however, there is no reason to suppose the yields are any different from 10xx as they are using the same process node. IMO: 1) this is padding for them eating the overstock of 10xx cards 2) this is them milking the crypto crowd (and #1) 3) they are taking the money and running before 7nm AMD cards

The 2080Ti's die is 45% larger than the 1080Ti. It 100% has lower yields.

Gaming doesn't mean you have to buy display costing thousand Euros or GPU for 900-1200 EUR. Just buy a midrange RX or GTX from this gen with a solid display and just enjoy the games. And good luck with the kiddo. 🙂
