Ahw the chart you meant, thanks for the note. Will fix later today.
Yes sorry, I meant in the chart ๐Ÿ™‚ The highlighted bar has the wrong card next to it.
Yeah I noticed that but I will be putting this under water. EK is working on a full-coverage water block.
That's awesome, going by the review the PCB is done up from scratch. Good to see EK are working on a block for it.

awesome review I run my fans at 70% an it is quieter than my old EVGA GTX970 SCC ACX cooler

Just got this card. Swapped out 2 x 970's. It's the same performance in one card for me and of course you have the added bonus of games that don't support SLI are having twice the GPU power.

Ain't it nice huh Honored? ๐Ÿ˜€

Very nice card. No 3.5gb and SLI to deal with. Games are smoother because of one card. I can see and feel the difference. I remember when I bought one 970 and thought wow that's smooth, I should buy another! When I did I noticed that games were not as smooth any more even though I had twice the frame rate. This does not however that I won't be buying another in a few months time ๐Ÿ˜‰

Well, what about this guy http://www.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/STRIXGTX980TIDC3OC6GD5GAMING/ It's even higher clocked. Will you test this Hilbert? Would be nice ๐Ÿ™‚
Yes, board partners are submitting 980Ti cards like crazy at the moment, This particular ASUS model is already in house, as well as the Zotac AMP Extreme and Palit Super Jetstream editions.

Nice, Thank you Hilbert! I'm really interested in that particular model

So you did it? I'm in the same boat although everywhere I read it felt like 970s were faster than 980Ti at 1440p. It's a costly "upgrade" though since I also want to replace the Swift with the Acer XB270HU ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

Fantastic ๐Ÿ™‚ Wonder how the Palit will fare this time. You liked the 780Ti one (which is why I bought one myself although I didnt like it that much).

Nice one, looking forward to the review of the Zotac AMP! That should be one sweet card.

From what I've seen you're right, 970 SLI will perform slightly better than a single 980ti, there isn't that much in it though. Going from a single 970, a 980ti would be a great upgrade. From 970 SLI it's a bit of a sidestep, but then you get the advantage of getting that performance in 100% of scenarios, also less heat/noise. I did something similar going from 7950 CFX to a single 970. 970 performs slightly worse, but it was a worthy sidestep ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks to this great review like all from GURU3D! So... what is the name... something like Fury? HBM memory... I dont remember very well... AMD just resigned with the coadjuvante place. Will be necessary 2 Fury (not X) to give the performance of a just one 980TI... Poor market to us... weยดll all hostage of NVIDIA prices...

Yeah it's a sidestep at best, I however can't imagine going back to single GPU after 3 generations of 2way SLI'd cards, I don't know, there may be a stutter or something but I honestly don't notice it. I would only give up my 2x970s if I would go for another 2x980Tis but it's not worth it since prices are insane over here... one 980Ti costs between 3400-4000 lei aka 770-800+ euros!!! I payed for 2x970s something like ~2x350 euros which was a killer deal last fall, but now everything is extremely expensive with the increased dollar/euro. I'm sure it will not change with the DX12 cards, but at least then I'll also have a more technological incentive to upgrade... :wanker:

I test BF4 in 3 maps that were empty and looked at the same scene in the same place and the frame rate was slightly higher with the 980Ti. Heaven and Valley were slightly higher too. Games that don't support SLI the difference is amazing.

Those GPU clocks are very nice and well needed. But it will boil down to memory overclocking. Especially @4k. That's where mem OC seem to become very important.

Ah, the Leu... I remember spending a lot of Leu on crap on holidays to Romania when I was a kid ๐Ÿ™‚

with a 384bit memory bus, the mem overclock takes a bit of a step back, compared to 256bit. Core clocks will be king even at 4k.

I find this MSI 980ti to be very ugly but very impressive with its extra phases and all. I would have bought it if I didnt already get the EVGA acx 2.0 already, I know theres bad blood with HH and EVGA because of the Afterburner debacle but it's a shame. When I bought it, the availability and choices were very limited.

Yeah the poor leu (translated lion lol) is taking a beating with the increase of dollar/euro/pound in the past half year and now with the Greece crisis even more probably...

I'd love to see a review of Asus Strix and EVGA Hybrid and see how they stack up against G1 and MSI.

Good luck on seeing an EVGA product reviewed on here after the Precision X fiasco.
