Good laptops...but graphics card not as impressive as mentioned in article
The MSI range of laptops are pretty good. They look pretty slick and come with some nice features. The refreshed GE60 and GE70 laptops are good gaming laptops, however, the Geforce GTX660M will not be able to play current games at Full HD resolutions and max IQ settings. If you're able to fork out abit more cash, I would strongly recommend looking at laptops that come with AMD's Radeon HD7970M or Nvidia's Geforce GTX680M (which is more expensive than the latter). Both of these flagship cards are great for full HD laptop gaming and offer a truly amazing experience. These cards are capable of achieving framerates that we previously unheard of in terms of laptop gaming. You can play practically any game at max settings in 1920x1080 (even with AA) at playable framerates.
However, if you don't mind gaming at HD (1366x768) resolutions, then the Geforce GTX660M would not be a bad card to opt for.

I play all my games at 1920x1080 on my Asus G74, and that's only a GTX 560M. Only thing I don't turn on is AA, so really, no big deal. You don't have to drop down to 1366x768...ever.

Dude, you can't play demanding games like Battlefield 3 or Crysis 2 at 1920x1080 and at MAX settings with an Nvidia Geforce GTX560M - regardless of AA. The card struggles to maintain 30 FPS in these titles. I know, because I had the GTX560M on my previous ASUS laptop.
The GTX680M and Radeon HD7970M are ALOT faster than the previous generation GTX560M and Radeon HD6970M.

At the same time, the GTX660M = GTX580M ... Its not a Kepler card. ( 384CC )
( the only thing change is the clock speed of memory and core ( and not by so much )
The only new one is the GTX680M if i dont do a mistake (1344CC ).

Looks horrid, I wouldn't buy this laptop just based on looks alone.

It's mostly similar to the 640m sure, but performance is going to be a fair amount higher.
But still, nothing compared to the 7970m or the 680m.

Oh wait yes, you were talking about the 640 desktop card, yeah it would probably equal that.
notebookcheck maintains a standing list of mobile gpu rankings, and occasionally throws in desktop cards for a rought estimate, it pins the 660m just below the 550 ti, above the 450.
