I went with the 970 over the 980 last time. The 1070 v 1080 seems to be in a similar spot but not quite. Though I'll probably go whole hog this time and get 1080 (to have the 1080Ti come out ~3 months later and blow it out of the water).
Wish there were more reviews/availability already. Never is at launch dates. I was thinking the G1. But leaning towards an AIO now, so the SeaHawk or EVGA Hybrid.

Thanks for the review, Hilbert! You made up my mind completely now 😀
Tho i'm still unsure if i should stick with Arctic Cooling like i have for the past 10+ Years. I'm a sucker for silence you see. So i might end up buying a 1070 with a cheap plastic cooler like the MSI AERO and get an Arctic Accelero Xtreme 4.
Will see, i wont need a 1070 untill half way in August.

Great card. I have the 970 version and it´s amazing! Silent 90% of the time, while mantaining a great performance, thanks to the cooler.
I´m just a little sad to see how much Nvidia castrated the 1070. The 970 overclocked, offered the same performance of the 980, now the 1070 overclocked can´t touch the 1080... That´s really lame, even by Nvidia standards...

1070 will be my next card. I will wait for the prices to drop at normal levels and all custom designs to be released. The EU prices are ridiculous atm. Will check again after September. Hope stock and prices will settle in by then.

£420 for MSI Gaming on OCUK. I might wait closer to BF1 release and hopefully it will drop below £400 :P Tbh can get MSI AERO for £380 already!

This card (or the Z) is most likely my next upgrade. If only they were available I would buy one right now, but meh, I'll have to wait at least another 3-4 weeks I bet. I would have gone for the 1080, but the price/performance is simply obscene. I will rather get this and then a 1080Ti next year.

Looks like the card that I am looking for. Plus I will be waiting until the end of the month and hopefully the cards will have a high supply and a low demand.

Great looking card. Need to wait to see prices. The 1080 version is $719. A reference board EVGA ACX is $619.

Is anyone else impressed with the GDDR5 on these boards ? I've seen some reviews going as high as 2350mhz, that's 9400 GT/s, just 6% lower than the 1080

MSI in full price gouge mode. I suspect this is simply because of availability. MSI 1070 is the only AIB 1070/1080 available right now, and by available I mean listed, delivery end of June according to this site
FE should cost 490 euros according to dollar conversion + ~22% tax
Instead they are selling it for 520, and MSI gaming for 550! Madness.
Edit: It appears there's an additional ~30 euro overhead for other EU fees like warranty etc, so 520 Euros for the FOUNDERS EDITION appears to be correct.
Expect other AIBs to price lower, starting at 450 euro, and MSI to follow suit
Effective prices or MSRP? What's the MSRP on this card being reviewed ?
LOL. 550 euros

I noticed cards seem to be coming with LED lights these days, I not fan of that can those lights be switched off?? My PSU has led to but it has switch to turn it off.
