So, this year, there is no competition event for prices? What a thoroughly **** year

I would be in the interested group to buy this screen. Although I bet a lot of gurus here would advise me against it, not being OLED or QLED or w/e 😀 It's just the logical upgrade of my own screen (144Hz, 1440p, Gsync, 27") plus HDR on top of it. But... what's the price? I bet it still costs $/€ 900+...

Pretty cool, I prefer VA panels. This could be a nice upgrade to my aging 32" LG 4K 60Hz

Also, MSI website mention 120Hz, not 144Hz https://www.msi.com/Monitor/G321CU Specs suggest this should be middle of the pack money wise.
You are right, but only the topmost mentioning on the product page actually uses 120Hz, the rest 144Hz (4 more times on that page). But good find, I didn't notice looking at the page for the first time

Its probably 144hz 8 bit, 120hz 10 bit like many panels like this.
data/avatar/default/avatar05.webp
The spec sheet says 144Hz everywhere and also 1.07B (8bits + FRC) HDR is 300nits

A few weeks ago, the ebayz had a deal for this LCD: https://www.ebay.com/itm/265477127532?mkevt=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&campid=5337259887&toolid=10001&customid=02befab0818211ed809e9e6251c4153f0INT There was an additional 15% off. My net was $467.49US, free shipping in the US. The panel is IPS*; however. The seller is Acer, supposed to look brand new, and offers a two-year warranty through Allstate. The 15% off deal might come back again.. (??) *people don't like IPS screens for the backlighting 'halo' and / or 'blacks look gray'. However, I'm doing HDR gaming (ME LE) on my VA panel. Once you enable HDR, there's TONS of backlight halo, even on my G32QC. So, might as well go for the best color reproduction and refresh rate on a 4K monitor to do HDR gaming.

Hate this curved trend... needs to die asap...

Still waiting for my no compromise flat, 32" 4K monitor ahaha.

That's all we ever want, not sure why this trend is happening either.

I feel the curve these days, not sure I'd want to go back to the flatness.

Curved 16:9 is stupid but curved 21:9 is a necessity.

The LG 32GQ950 came agonisingly close for me; apparently the AT-W polariser does a good job improving contrast and reducing IPS glow side of things. I don't mind IPS as I do photo editing and I heard OLED may crush some black details. But at that price point the edge lit 32 dimming zone is laughable and I read that at lower brightness setting there is flickering (how bad it actually is I don't know) which is not great because I keep brightness at 100-120 nit for editing.

Nah my posture is flat but my monitor is curved.

Looks like a pretty decent deal. For that price I'd buy one too tbh

the MSI 32" is a fail you can get far better than a weak-ass edge-lit 32" for the money, especially from the actual OEMs in the business (i.e. Samsung, LG etc). this screen is far too dark and lacks HDR implementation. in the real world of offices, dens, bedrooms, and apartments HDR is every bit as important as VRR. especially when you consider that even on a gaming rig, gaming isn't the only application being run. think of your phone and editing pictures - all newer phones take HDR imagery if you plan on buying a monitor to also use with streaming HDR is a must, where VRR isn't used at all. to be really blunt, it's better to get a really good 27" than a crap 32"

Well, I guess I have to agree with you? I'd much rather buy a good 27" than a crap 32", point is, what are good 27" 4K 144Hz VRR (HDR) screens that don't cost double of what this monitor costs? But honestly, since I have concluded I won't be buying any of the trash GPUs released this year, I won't need a 4K screen in the forseeable future anyway...

you're in luck because better tech has trickled down to 1440p... mind you the "leet" ones cost as much as a good 4k... i would go for something that's at least HDR 600 as that's the unoffical entry to "TrueHDR" (another standard...but much better than "display certified" which is just the ability to process the signal) the real reason is that HDR 600 means goodbye to edge lighting (IPS glow) so you're dealing with a type of FALD - which is better than edge lighting 7 ways from Sunday. the minimum level i've seen is 576 zones, but more IS better (but more $$). some examples are: LG UltraGear QHD 32-Inch Gaming Monitor 32GQ850-B, ViewSonic Elite XG320Q 32" ASUS ROG Swift PG329Q 32” (also have same thing curved) Acer is more expensive ATM and Samsung loves it's VA monitors at this price range but any of these should be less than $500 and give you 10 years+ of solid gaming. and it's really weird to have Asus as any kind of value, but there it is with two models in the "sweet spot" under $500
