Im still missing old times, where just Videocard memory could be expanded through optiomal memory slots.
I still dream about modular GPUs, where we would be able only replace main chip, memory..

When was that possible i in my 40's and dont remeber a time that was possible?, the modular thing would be cool but probably huge nightmare to make working drivers for it

Ive definitely seen socketed memory chips on some videocards in an ewaste pile (probably early 1990s era cards i would guess). The software side wouldn't be that difficult , It could work just like ddr dimms, bigger problem is that socketing/slotting chips with the amount of pins modern video memory chips have would be a nightmare, you would need 4 sodimm or smaller slots, for a 256bit wide memory interface.

hmm maybe i seen such thing on my first pc which was 486x or was 286x it was 8mhz I cant remember changing video card once with new card that had something you describing. but if i did it long gone it was probably still in that 8mhz pc i had, when i junked it, it survived 3 floods before the 4th flood rendered the pc usless the likely hood now days pc surviving 1 flood let alone 3 and still work is nil

never owned any of those cards, I did own S3 at somepoint which might be why i remeber those slots, i wasnt much tech junkie i so i did not pay much attention to what the cards look like
bold statement,but not untrue
that is why they're niche cards
Its not bold its a fact. Point me person that got rdna2 with rt mind?
Its not feature on rx6. It can run it but thats it.
Strong 1080p/1440p raster performance is where rx6 shines and it's the field we can draw any comparisons.
Want rt? Buy card that supports it.
[/SPOILER] btw it's also slower than 3060ti on gf gameready drivers in 2042,not that anyone cares about bf2042 until it's down to 25eur. https://www.purepc.pl/battlefield-2042-pc-sprawdzamy-wymagania-sprzetowe-test-wydajnosci-kart-graficznych-nvidia-geforce-i-amd-radeon?page=0,9 despite it's faster on medium https://www.purepc.pl/battlefield-2042-pc-sprawdzamy-wymagania-sprzetowe-test-wydajnosci-kart-graficznych-nvidia-geforce-i-amd-radeon?page=0,8 even amd told you in their slides that infinity cache will not fully compensate for the gimped memory config on a card that's as powerful as 2080Ti/2080S running a 192-bit bus
