I stopped watching the video after the first 2.5 minutes after the over emotional quasi-Apple non-sense... Just ran the their PC Health Check tool for Windows 11, says my PC is not compatible, but doesn't say why... i better check their URL and get a new PC pre-ordered or i'll miss out! 😉

Great.... A launch event with no launch date and no information what options will be to upgrade..
In 22 minutes it will resume.

Well Windows 10 didn't last long did it. I was looking forwards to a Win10 X build but that's never gonna happen now. I don't believe Win 11 will have enough changes over Win 10 to even call it a new OS. If they do give it away for free then i believe they have a ulterior motive for doing so.

Cool itpro. Hopefully more info in the second part on release date..

In the "Feature-Specific Requirements" Section for W11 on the MS site it says this: DirectStorage requires 1 TB or greater NVMe SSD to store and run games that uses the "Standard NVM Express Controller" driver and a DirectX 12 Ultimate GPU. Any idea why 1TB and up? 250/500 are a no-go?

I really didn't see it coming that Windows 11 will cutoff support for all motherboards without UEFI and TPM 2.0

It is not just any 1TB NVMe drive. It has to be your boot drive as well; at least according to their health check app. It is only registering my 250GB boot drive. So it automatically says my pc cannot run windows 11.

Are you sure you have TPM enabled in the bios ?

Ah ok, that could be the reason why my computer failed as well. So it seems that they are forcing this, even though this is a gaming related technology. Will be interesting to see how that works when i need to deploy Windows 11 to corporate computers. 'Sorry boss, these computers are not gaming grade. We'll need to spend half a million euros on new systems' lol

-This should not happen. If you're admin, then it's up to you to STOP this from happening with WSUS. (Windows Software Update Services). Create a WSUS machine. Done. Problem resolved. -The moment any type of official test build appears, it's again up to you to test and get to know the issues. Autodesk should also have patches out upon the release date of WIN 11. Issues? Nah, be active and avoid them. 🙂
Yes, Yes and yes. But all of our users have local administrative rights for various reasons, mostly to install different kinds of software for programming. Or else we'd be bothered all day. So there's still some departments that "accidentally navigate to Windows Update and manually upgrade". I believe it'll be more of a Windows Update than new OS. I haven't watched the announcement yet, so we'll see....

I'll watch it just to find some timestamps for some quality memes.

It'll probably because you haven't got tpm enabled in the BIOS; go to security and enable it (I used ptt). Then it passed fine. I suspect future bios updates will enable this by default to avoid end user confusion. CDJay

https://blogs.windows.com/windowsexperience/2021/06/24/introducing-windows-11/ You can also read the event coverage on Windows Central or Neowin: https://www.windowscentral.com/tag/windows-11 https://www.neowin.net/news/tags/windows_11/ So it does require a recent 64-bit CPU with UEFI/Secure Boot, and also TPM 2.0, Direct3D 12 / WDDM 2.x, and 4 GBytes of RAM on top of that. Welp, if this is accurate, I will need to make one of my computers Windows exclusive then, for gaming a minor stuff. I do not have TPM nor Secure boot enabled, when it comes to my Ubuntu 20.04.2 installs.

Back in my day we called apps, "programs". You know you're getting old when most of the new features have zero interest or use to you. I just want it to run fast, have all the fluff optional, and not be some big data collection device with more backdoors than Buckingham Palace. They can't stop me dreaming of a better Windows.
