I been using Windows since Windows 95 and never been screwed over. I always made sure to switch to a new OS two or more years prior before the other goes EOL. People seem to forget Microsoft has been supporting Windows 7 for nearly 11 years... 11 years... 11 years. Yeah, i wish Samsung supported their mobile devices for that long.

You can't inform or educate someone with a preconceived idea formed around indoctrinated by fear ignorance. the majority of security exploits you see getting patches in cumulative updates are only performable with local access to the machine, and anything wormable will have mitigations and preventative actions outlined for all os's, or an out of support patch provided. Microsoft take a good deal of responsibility in stemming worms spreading and that means patching operating systems they have long stopped supporting. Any common idjit that would get a trojan and not be capable of removing it themselves on 7 will have no better luck on 10, even with the slew of data hostage protections added.

So, if someone uses latest windows OS and its updates, is a victim of conspiracy.
