I would say RIP, but Bobby Kotick doesn't deserve peace.
It's a pity to see Microsoft hoarding all of PC gaming.

I really with they would buy out a company like EA. At least then they won't get any worse.

Microsoft should buy all of the mega-publishers. Maybe then the market will crash and there can be some real competition again 😀. Bonus points if it kicked the "gamer" market (overpriced GPUs, monitors, etc) down a few pegs for a while 😎.

we really don't need this consolidation, but Activision does. the article touched on their cultural toxicity but it's way worse than that. M$ is striking gold and has the managerial expertise to clean house... all while digesting those "lovely" monthly fees that Blizz generates.
for the consumer this is a wash - except for XBox Gamepass, where those expensive titles can be played. Gamepass is actually a very good deal for those who don't want to spend hundreds a month on new titles or subscriptions... one subscription to rule them all - even if the HQ is Mordor.

Public wanted to punish Activision's investors and CEOs and managed to punish them by letting them have more money than their offsprings will manage to burn in a lifetime. Good job!

I hoped this would be an April Fools joke.
Are Microsoft blind? What do they see of value in this failing company? CoD? King?

Doesn't anti monopoly laws come into account here? Activison is the second biggest publisher in the industry!? How was this allowed?
EDIT:
Sony must be absolutely crapping their pants about now.

Activision-Blizzard had a market cap of 50.41 Billion US$.
MS paid 20 Billion extra for the company. I bet Kotick is getting a big bonus from this deal.

The question now is when will MS pull CoD and all those other games from the Playstation platform.

This can only be a good thing. Everything released by Blizzard or Activision in recent years has been just absolute, poorly supported trash. Blizzard is just a name at this point.

I don't know, to me Activision was always "toxic" and basically ruined Blizzard's games after the merge (not that Blizzarrd itself wouldn't have been capable of that on their own in hindsight)... so I don't know how to feel about this, certainly not sad/angry, I was that when they merged with Blizzard. Guess I'll be happy to not hear Kotick's name in gaming news anymore.
