The same that caused Windows server 2008 failure at boot?

What did it "address"? Found on the MS site: "Addresses an issue in which a third-party Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) boot manager might expose UEFI-enabled computers to a security vulnerability."

i always imagined security patches being a couple of extra if statements to avoid some codepaths. How they can be so messy.

Installed on the 14th on 1909, no issues (thankfully)

Nice one MS, good on you to listen to your beta (alpha?) testers for once. I have this downloaded though not installed - put on Update Paused after hearing about this last week. I damn well hope it gets removed before installing but I'm MS-realistic, so it definitely won't lol.

Good thing I have updates disabled.

Would be funny if MS announces they discovered an older update that causes black screen issues with Navi cards.

Installed on the 13th and have not had any problems (1909)

It was a terrible buggy mess for me so I rolled back. I lost audio and had major stability issues with file copy in explorer. I'd recommend rolling back before the 10-day period so you don't get stuck with this update.

Had it since the 13th. No issues whatsoever. I'm sure WU will take care of it or fix it with new updates.

Not surprised this has been pulled; it corrupted my user profile when i installed it, then i borked the whole system trying to be smart.

Another one here installed on the 13th of Feb no issues to report.

What ever happened to the 'if it's not broke, don't fix it' mentality. As in, just pull the wireless adapter when you walk away, so it can't break itself before you get back.

Look at ms implementing surprise mechanics!

I think this is funny as even microsoft can mess up UEFI/Legacy installs still, anyone in the know will know this is exactly what the issue is but microsoft dont want too look stupid admitting it,i bet if the same users were too swap there boot from uefi too legacy the issue shouldn't be there, seen so many systems having this issue since 1709 and having too fix them.

I have been suffering boot problems during the last 2 days and i didnt know what caused them. im glad i have read this but what its more strange is that the problem resolved alone. I have the KB4524244 Update installed and i was about to uninstall it but "magically" the boot problems disappeared alone.
