I was affected by this " bug ". Changed PSU, videocard, changed drivers (older drivers made the freezes happen a little less frequent) but to find out this shit was the culprit ? fml..

I'm appalled too. Windows 10 isnt a stable OS, its really sad MS hasnt figured this is the first thing it needs to be be. And their problem reporting is terrible! Why was there no advance notice of this in general circulation?

I don't know why they say these are optional, as they are mandatory, as they always get automatically installed at some point, just like this one will be on Tuesday, with the security updates, so you may as well just bang the bugger on now, and then on Tuesday, you'll only have the security ones to do 😛

Naa, I'll just not install any until I absolutely must because something is broken. By far the best solution 🙂

"issue that displays a blank lock screen after a device wakes up from Hibernate" Didnt Linus just have a new video updating his wife's pc because it was doing this and he couldnt figure out why? lol
Only my HTPC did this. R5 1600AF, 16GB 3200, NVME, and Fury X. Could not figure out what was causing it. I swapped out gpus. It did with with GTX 780, GTX 970, RX 580 and Fury X. So I figured it had to be windows.

The sleep bug is still there for me after installing this. Same issue on our gtx1070. Both are using ultrawide monitors; if that matters.
