Wow, this game might actually push 16gb system memory to it's limit.

Well, I don't play flight sims, but that's pretty darn photorealistic! Assuming the rest of the graphics stack up to the same level, then that's probably gonna be a pretty immersive flight sim. I'll be interested to see the system requirements!

Impressive looking indeed. National modding teams would have their hands full trying to bring that level of details into the game, just to include the main cities of their countries. Unless Microsoft really managed to create an algorithm that pulled it off from map and satellite data, taking into account various national characteristics. Taking those characteristics from photographic data automatically would be almost scary.

Silly 😎 Looks like it will be Azure powered/streamed. Even XBOX gets it.

Huge mods on Xbox? Modders having access to Azure servers to upload and run mods from there? Seems more than just extremely unlikely. I recall the local terrain mod I got for Flight Sim X was something like 200 megs, and the level of detail was rudimentary, nothing like seen in this video. Perhaps even for a small country like mine, it would be a gigabyte to get anywhere with this new game. Assuming modders could even get it done. If the game already has all significant cities in the world included and modders only need to tweak things a little or add airplanes, then I could see it working like you suggested, just maybe.

What part of what I said are you arguing against? Where did I suggest something? Are you sure you understood what I said? Are you ok? o_O

"Microsoft Flight Simulator currently targets a 2020 release on the PC." Does the video not state at the end it's coming 10th October 2019?

Technical Alpha starts in October. I've been signed up for a while and look forward to playing it. I hope they keep the purist aspect of the game, even if they do cater to casuals a bit too, which is fine. Looks gorgeous so far.

You suggested it's Azure powered (streamed) and runs on Xbox. If it ends up running on Xbox by streaming, how could it supporting modding like the original news post suggested? Whether I'm ok or not is no business of yours, thank you.

I didn't mention modding. What I meant was that it wasn't going to all run on the client side. I'd think it would need much more than 16GB, if it was. He may not have meant that it would all be on client side, though...) Yes, XBOX One is suposed to get it. https://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/microsoft-flight-simulator Hope you're ok anyways 😎

Yep. The amount of detail is pretty staggering. Not something you'd install on a PC these days - size is far out of reach...

The game will still be huge. It's suggested that caching will be employed if assets are downloaded from the cloud.

Hmm...don't see where I said that it won't be huge...quite the opposite was implied)

Say what now? It is most definitely something you'll install. At least I will be.

Good luck having the full experience...) https://www.tweaktown.com/news/67867/microsofts-flight-simulator-uses-bing-maps-satellite-data/index.html
That went right over your head.... But anyway, no luck required to have the full experience. All that is required is technology 😉 Btw not sure why you linked that article, which is pretty basic and doesn't cover any info about the game. Not very detailed info anyway. Besides, I'm already an insider for the technical alpha so I'll know more than most soon 😉
