They are just trolling. If they don't keep that junk free , who is even going to consider using it .

Now if they could only fix problems with taskbar and startmeny dying off.

Updates and service packs
Windows 10: Windows 10 was designed as a service....

Hmm...... no thanks.

i'm still crying over win 7. Have to use win 10 for cpu simplicity
all them fudge privacy buttons you go through, the over menu, over a menu to make things harder to find.
Win 7 now seems the most logical layout i have ever used
Ignorance is a blessing - win 10 to most will give no despair, they not know what goes on in the background 😀

I'm still in a wake up state...
I thought 1709 was going to be the last free update.

This is about upgrading from W7 and 8, future W10 Updates are still going to be free, for now.

Already upgraded all my computers. To those on the fence, grab it while you can - like it or not, Windows 10 is the future.

"...like it or not, Windows 10 is the future..."- of the past. Fixed the ending for You. No thank's necessary.

You can 'un-crap' Windows 10. This is my image test system with a fresh install that was modified with MSMG toolkit and a few service tweaks.

I'll wait till the next Windows, if there is one... W7 is doing fine for me...

I didn't upgrade, bought the home version when it released. Great OS though I still don't care for the registry system.
Or you can just disable everything you don't want. You don't run into the headaches later on, forcing you to redo your image and reinstall. *this is the part where you inform me of how you've been using Nlite/Ntlite/winreducer/Xplite..etc for years and never once encounterd a single issue.* Except I've heard it all before and I really don't care about that BS. It's like scaling a building instead of using a ladder, again it's just easier to disable. Tons of apps to disable all telemetry, Cortana or whatever you want.

I recently upgraded from Windows 10 to Windows 8.1 on one of my family member's laptop. It had downgraded to Windows 10 automatically (months ago, when M$ did that kind of stuff), so I backed up all the info, erased the OS, and did a clean Windows 8.1 again.
Now it works like a charm again.

Yes, Windows 8.1 is a bit ugly, but it's surprisingly stable and fast.
It has a lot of W10's goodies, but without most of the things that make W10 horrible.
It also has W7's stability and update control, which some of us appreciate.
If you look past the looks, W8.1 is actually a great OS.
