Not sure you're talking about W8 or W8.1 but imho W8.1 is great OS here on my side and I don't give a crap about what some people are saying about it. Almost all of my rigs at home (and few office PCs), doesn't matter if it's a gaming PC or HTPC (except gaming PC of my daughter, she still refuses to let go Win7 SP1 64bit, she's afraid to lose all af here games in Steam library lol), are running on W8.1 Pro 64bit for few years now and NOT A SINGLE ISSUE with those and I'm not talking about one or two PCs: it's dozen of PCs just in my home running W8.1 64bit.. It's fast, stable, I have compete control over the OS, stupid Start meny is replaced with Classic Shell... Couldn't be happier. Honestly if W10 could work stable and bug free like W8.1 is running here on my side atm I would switch instantly to W10. Sad thing is that I saw way too many issues with W10 on PCs of my friends, relatives, clients... and I don't want to go through the same issueslike they were. Eventually one day I'm gonna switch from W8.1 to W10, probably gaming PCs are going to get W10 first but for now I'm really not interested in W10: W8.1 is doing it's job more than fine for me. Btw, all of those PCs above I'm talking about are registered for W10 Pro 64bit digital licence a while ago to make sure I could switch to W10 one day when needed.
I'm not sure what issues you've having, but I've been using 10 on all my home PCs since day one and have had virtually no issues with them (the only one with serious problems was my SP4, but that's due more to the hardware than anything else, and has since been ironed out). I've used 8.1 for years without issue, and it's been a similar, trouble-free experience with 10. Although some people may like Windows 8.1, it is generally not a popular OS - according to netmarketshare.com, it only has 6.66% market share among desktop OSes, compared to 45.43% share for 7 and 26.65% for 10 (even XP has a 8% market share).

None, since I'm not using W10 yet 😀 But, saw way too many issues with W10 other people around me had or still have, friends, relatives... And almost all of them either lately bought new desktop or laptop PCs with preinstalled W10 or they had upgraded from W7/8.1 on their own will in late 2015, 2016, 2017 and now more than few of them have all kinds of issues on W10. I've told them backthen: "...hey folks, wait a bit, why rushing into W10, let it settle for a few months or a year and then I'll help you to do transition from W7/8.1 to W10, MS is still polishing W10 and why ffs you're so desperate to try something new and be a MS 's guinea pig?!..." ...but they didn't listen, and now with all their stubbornes backthen they have the guts to ask me for help with something that isn't my job: "...fight your own W10 battles folks, I've told you to wait a bit till I move my rigs to W10, harvest knowledge about W10 tuning and then we're gonna upgrade your PCs to W10 too, you didn't wanted to listen me and now it's my turn to turn on that -ignore- button, deal with it on your own....". Maybe I'm a bith harsh to them, I admit, but sometimes you have to draw the line and let stubborn people to fight the battles they started on their own despite I've told them not to do that. Way to many times in my life people close to me abused my knowledge and will to help them for free and if I had charged them every 5th help-session throbleshooting their PCs I would be millionaire by now, but I never charged them even a cent and now I regret about that...

I know that but honestly I don't give a danm about the fact how W8.1 is popular or unpopular: happy W.81 camper here, W8.1 is serving me well and it'll stay that way untill I make a decision to go W10 route. It'll happen when W10 offers me something that I can't do with W8.1, same way I've switched from W7 SP1 to W8.1 few years ago and never regreted. I don't want to argue if or how W10 is better than W8.1. Hey, mu neighbour has a wife with a slightly better curves then my missus but that's not a reason for me to abandon my lady and bang my neighbours wife while he's at business trip. Till my wife fulfil my own needs there's no reason for me to look over the fence for something "better" 😀 But hey, you never know what tomorrow brings, grass is sometimes really more greenish in next backyard, read between the lines... 😉
