This vid is hilarious XD It's funny coz its true. I worked in a hardware store for 4 years and these things were most useless, worst selling machine of our entire inventory. They do so... little.

The worst part of this is, that Windows 8 / 8.1 Pro tablets do a lot in comparison. A lot of the newer models are entire laptops.

I hate my Windows 8 laptop with a fiery passion, I haven't changed the OS in a futile attempt to adapt to it. It's annoying as **** and it's as if Micro$haft went out of their way to make it like that. I hope there is a special place in hell for Ballmer.

My Alienware laptop doesn't have a touch screen and runs Windows 8.1 perfectly fine. That guy must me be new to the PC. 🤓

Don't you always need to be always online to keep Windows 8 genuine? Also the cloud is a step up from music/video's etc saved on your computer I think.

Not to say I like M$ much but, I like this ad most of it is true but M$ can't really complain as they practically use the same tactics. Reminds me of "Hi I'm a Mac, and I'm a PC" ads..

I liked those ad's Mac could do everything a PC could do minus really being a gaming platform. With the added bonus Virus are non existent compared to PC. I hate all things MS always have. No choice in using MS os if I want to actual game on PC though

I heard some good things about the Chrome book. I am surprised that they used the Pawn Star guys. That was kind of humorous. Very true stuff that they said in this video that if your Internet connection is down then the Chrome Book is worthless. But on the other hand about it being a real laptop that is just false and a bs statement. To me the Chrome book is just a DRM laptop because you need an internet connection to use it.

Yeah, the video is cheesy, however people really buy Chromebooks cause they're cheap, then ask their more techy friends to help install Office and other Windows-related apps, then complain that MS is bad as Office and other Windows apps won't work. While I'm against negative marketing, it's not only MS, and just typing "M$ bad" is wrong. Long before Microsoft, Apple did the same with PC vs Mac ad, except for lack of valid arguments. And while current IE is really usable, Google promises faster Internet when you change your browser, despite the bandwidth being the limiting factor in most cases. Will I buy Chromebook? No, because it can't do stuff that I want, just as the ad says and I'm satisfied with my Windows 8.1-powered ThinkPad. In a similar way I use Chrome as a browser, as Firefox is way too slow, IE lacks features, and Opera is in a transition. Just pick what you need. I didn't buy Windows Phone 7, and opted for SGS2, as it was a better option. Perhaps when Windows Phone 9 is relased, I'll buy one, but who knows? Always pick the best option. Saying that this or that sucks without any reliable arguments is just wasting the time of you and the post readers.

+1 I have to work without Internet connection from time to time, but I can understand that it's a problem that doesn't exist for many people. I wouldn't call it a DRM, but a limitation. When buying stuff or investing time in finding a free product and learning using it, people can just make a list of attributes the product must have, should have, and would be kinda useful to have, and then get the product. If having real local storage, being able to run Windows apps, or being able to run without Internet is on your "must have" list, Chromebook is bad for you. However if they're not, perhaps it's not a bad option.

Just like that ad by Apple. Instead of spending money on fixing their problems, Microsoft spends more on advertising. "Rick says that because the Chromebook applications are web based, when you are not connected to the web, it's basically a brick. " This is the same company that wanted always online and 24 hour sign ins for the Xbox One.

I have a Chromebook and it is a brick with out an internet connection. However, it is advertised as having to have an internet connection to use in the first place. Besides, you can install Linux on it and use it offline.
