Indeed it is, and I'd argue pretty necessary too. Digital content (especially raw) is exploding in data consumption. I imagine for most professional content creators, the disk space is mostly just keeping up with the amount of data stored. So, even though we may have 4x the storage on a single card that was available just a few years ago, we're getting cameras that take up 4x the data as well. Thankfully, the fanciest camera I have is a 24MP APS-C DSLR and I'm just a hobbyist, so, 32GB has been plenty for me.

Start using a Lumix GH5s with HDR video at 400mbits, and that a 1-Terabyte SDXC card space vanishes like nothing. That's 180 Gigabytes per hour ! 1 TB doesn't even last a full day of shooting... multiple Terabyte cards are needed ! And any pros use the dual-card feature to make sure they don't lose the footage in case of a card failure... so 4 x 1 TB cards per day of shooting, at minimum !

That's pretty insane really when a 1tb HDD is like a million times bigger.

That's spelling not grammar and you actually spelled losing correctly although too isn't correct.You're is just wrong all included in spelling not grammar. I'm not wasting any neurons at all as it's second nature because I paid attention in school. It's a pet peeve of mine as well lol

And here's how this topic went down the drain due to grammar/spelling nazis. "I paid attention in school" How about this weird foreign concept: English is not my native language. It's not even my second language (that is French). I never learned it in school, because in the country I was born in they didn't teach it in school until 7th grade or so (and it was optional too). But somehow I am able to magically write and speak it just fine, even if that means slipping an occasional spelling mistake. What sorcery is this ? --- Anyway, mods, please delete all this off-topic trash, including my responses. And also warn the grammar nazis for blatant off-topic. They should know better. Thanks!
