What an absurd demand. When you consider his self-fulfilling prophecy of a name and the pause in the quote "to the plaintiff of a remedy... of six hundred million dollars" I couldn't help but think of: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/1/16/Drevil_million_dollars.jpg/200px-Drevil_million_dollars.jpg I get it - that forced Windows update is pretty annoying, but $600 million for a laptop? Even $6 million would be asking for too much.

I can see why this guy is pissed-off I had windows 10 installed and maybe it worked for a day or 2 before all the problems started,Icons missing, Programs not working,Screen turning on and off, Like more then Half of the freakin apps did not work at all! Yeah I went ahead and put Windows 7 sp1 thank you Microsoft for a Broken os no wonder it was Free.

NO ONE ever reads all the small print. M$ is protected and it's gonna be about as solid as it gets. If they make a counter claim saying his request is ridiculous he may end up paying stupid amounts of legal fees.

I would't mind any damages if they simply fix dwm.exe crash on boot with Sandy Bridge iGPU.

I've got a Sandy Bridge laptop that runs exclusively off the iGPU - I removed the dGPU because the GPU died - it boots fine on Windows 10, wonder why your system has issues?

May be something to do with his motherboard. I have a 2500k in a old Dell mini desktop that has no issue either.

Motherboard BIOS always has a screen of it's own .....processors with a p combined with a motherboard with no graphic output is different (very rare circumstance)

My take on this is, he knows he isnt going to win jack all money. The way he presented his case is for maximum exposure which might shame or perhaps force MS to provide a legit download link for Windows 7 so he has a route to legitimately sort his PC out safely. If he was serious about the cash he would be tooled up with lawyers. He might get a small amount of cash for the inconvenience caused. He has a right to express his disgust with what MS did to his computer and try to get some positive action. This is only costing him his time and it might work.
