The wheel on the g502 is big for no reason and it adds a lot of weight to it. It also rattles. I guess if a mouse has a tilt wheel that is well implemented, I wouldnt mind but the G502 wheel is bad. It really sticks out too.

I think I'm getting old, because all this "gaming grade" hardware is starting to look way too flashy if not outright gaudy to me.
Look into Zowie then. They're like driving a classic black BMW in between all those young rice cars in terms of looks.

The only gripe I have with my 502 is the damn scroll wheel. A) It sticks up a bit too far B) It is WAY to easy to spin/too sensitive A+B=just bumping it causes me to switch through weapons, a real pain the ass to have to constantly avoid touching the wheel. I am getting used to it, and besides that I love the mouse.

How about the right click on dropping the mouse down on the pad?

The best mouses on the market are Logitech G502 and the Rocat Military with design and optical sensor. I have the G502 it's really fine, people just overreacting about the issues too much. The sniper doesn't bother me, I even like it better than R.A.T 7, every time you tried to press the button hard cause sometimes it didn't register it would move the whole plastic. The sniper button in this mouse is just easy and actually help u on some occasions. and it's not even expensive mouse, u get WAY MORE options than stupid Zowie and SteelSeries Rivals for the price, cheap in Ebay and Amazon. About the issue with the Right Click on lifting and smashing in on the mouse pad I don't do, I can't play like that, but if u do it fast and softly it won't do it.

you should be lifting and smashing the mouse in to the pad to begin with, that is not how it ment be used so of coarse weird things will happen like a click

I think they fixed the g502 issues with this months drivers/firmware

Yah. Thats what USB 1.0 can do. USB low and full speed devices (1.0 and 1.1) HID spec says that it can poll every 1ms. USB high speed (2.0) HID spec says that device is allowed to set polling rate to 125ยตs. So it's not going to be over 1ms. It's a 32-bit ARM CPU, not all of those have USB 2.0 compatibility out of the box and need extra hardware to run USB 2.0 (external clock), but that 1ms is not going to be a problem. I dont think that they added any extra hardware there if sensor is 1ms.
thank you for you explanation.

USB ports are set at 1000Hz when a 1000Hz mouse polling rate is used.
Regardless of if you plug it in a 2.0 or 3.0 port? Would a mouse have to actually be 3.0 to use the extra speed?

USB 2.0 can do 8000Hz (poll every 125ยตS). The device will need to have the correct hardware to run USB 3.0. www.cypress.com/?docID=21349 (will open up PDF) On second page there are some key differences listed with USB 2.0 and 3.0. Also some more info: http://www.totalphase.com/support/articles/200349256-USB-Background Not sure what the maximum polling rate for HID class is for USB 3.0 ๐Ÿ™ Cant find it (I did search for it and checked multiple documents)...

Very informative! Thanks. ๐Ÿ™‚

I just tried it, I get no right(or left click for that matter) when dropping the mouse onto the pad from about 6". Anyway, why would you be dropping the mouse? Mine stays on the pad at all times, it never gets lifted up.

Ya... because the sniper button doesnt bother you means it cant bother anyone else and they are overreacting about the issues. Having to hold the mouse differently because the sniper button is in the way... ya totally overreacting.

Mine would register a click from 1". I heard it was fixed with a firmware update. Although the G502 has a great sensor, its not as comfortable as my other mice so I stopped using it. I went back to my G400, which is my most comfortable mouse but I am unable to aim at anything for some reason. For now, I went back to my DA2013 because it allows me not to miss. I am not sure why, probably some smoothing on the G400 or harder to press buttons. I don't like the dragging on my DA2013 though.

DA have really good shape, sensors, and firmware - no wonder you went back to it. Regarding that sniper button - is it really that bad? I haven't had G502 in hand, but I was considering getting one. I guess it depends on the palm size, as when I saw the photos, it didn't appear to be disturbing.

I thought I could get used to the mouse, felt a little bit better after a while, then I randomly decided to try out one of my old mice, thats how I learned that getting used to it does not mean comfortable. I use palm grip, so I have to keep my thumb bent or else it rests on top of the sniper button.

I want to replace my 5 year old G500, and got the G602. But after a couple of hours it's not all that good. Mainly the buttons on the side need quite some force to push. And it's heavy, but i expected that of a Wireless mouse. I requested a RMA to trade it for a G402 which seems to be closer to my G500. Fingers crossed ๐Ÿ™‚

Getting it tomorrow by the looks of it ๐Ÿ™‚

Sniper button is baddly places its almost like they think your people have extra long thumbs. it imo is only bad thing about this mouse, SNIPER button is POORLY placed the back/foward buttons are place correctly if the sniper button was put directly bellow G5 button and i mean bellow it not infront of it like it is. the mouse would been perfect. Perfect placement for sniper button look at the MX1100 and MX performance. which would been smart place to put it. With my MX1100 I used the back button and the sniper thumb button cause the foward button was to forward. With the G502 because the sniper button it to forward. I now use the back/foward buttons cause they reachable with how i normal holdmy mouses. to reach the sniper button i have to change how i hold the mouse constantly. I knew from the pictures the sniper button i was not gona like and i was right. it was poorly placed that and there is problem with the surface tuning, causing mouse to jump up or down when panning left right at random.

Thank you. Now I can see it. When looking at the side of the mouse, it's really weird. How did they expect people to be able to use both G4 and sniper button, when they are so far from each other? It appears that if I decide to get it anyway, I'd just have to treat it as it had 1 button less, which is kinda uncool by looking at pretty good placement of 4 side buttons on G700(s).
