Nice record for intel. A unique gen only motherboards. Return of this boards will be sky high. Or rocket high.

Oh shit Intel why you do this! i begin to wonder why do i still sticking with Intel this time around 😡 fortunately i was aware that my Asrock z490m itx/ac doesn't have any bios announcement and when i saw Z490-g board second hand with good price i took it. but still.. WTH Intel (or Asrock ftm)??

why am I not surprised to see a whole list of asrock mobos there what a sad downfall of once great mobo maker. their mid range boards used to be quality. their z490 is definition of fail.

Thats what you get for not buying an high end z490 motherboard. :P

but not asus - those are not supporting gen.4 m.2 with rocket lake

It's ok, you can buy a brand new z590 for 200 or 300 dollars that will be abandoned in 3 or 4 months. Great investment. They need to skip rocket lake completely. But alder lake is still a year ahead.

When the first leak tweet of RKL z490 support of asrock goes live, the (short) list of z490 makes me question why my board does not get mentioned straightaway. And when i check those board webpage, their description has been updated with 11th gen support while mine doesn't. So something must've gone wrong. Found second hand z490-g is just pure luck and timing, because I just got over itx madness mainly because of the insane pricing these days. So my case is already microATX right now but with ITX innard but ready to jump whenever good mATX board come around. And boom z490-g it is. The asrock board? got sold just yesterday 🙄 #phewww

It´s amazing the mess created by Intel regarding their own sockets! That´s why my next rig is probably going to be from AMD.

My bios is rdy since 15th dec 😀 If only gpu prices were rdy too lol

Why are you surprised? 5 years now Intel does this some times twice in a single year (Z270-Z370 good example). When we pointed that the Z490 is dead in the water before the year end, we were laughed at, some boasting all Z490 boards will be compatible and we talk nosense. Wait and see there won't be pcie 4.0 support either but on handful of very expensive boards.

same boat here 10500 bought as a placeholder dunno about rkl-s tho,if they're asking over 300 eur for a six core then no way in hell,10700KF is 300.
probably max 260-270e, Im seeing 10600K for 206-230€ that's as much as I payed for my 10500 and it was kinda cheap.,and back then 10600k was ~250-270e I think I'll get 11700kf, my mobo doesnt support igpu by default, so it would be ideal. ~330 -350e would be ok too 🙂

planned a sn850 drive alongside for os.check it out.r/w performance is outstanding.over 90mb/s 4k read https://www.tweaktown.com/reviews/9664/wd-black-sn850-1tb-nvme-2-ssd/index.html
I was checking that drive too, looks very good! All reviews praise it, as long as it has cooling on it.

no need for cooling if you're not gonna move lots of data back and forth.im only buying it for 4k r/w. 10600kf are selling for 190eur here, same as 10500 cost me in june.230 and you're getting a 10700f. 8/16 with 4.6G allcore and 4.8 single core. really, really nice.best value cpu by a mile. i wanted an igpu,it comes in handy, but later i managed to buy a 1070 strix for a really good price and i wont sell it once my 3080 arrives, makes for a really nice backup card.

People argue that Intel always switched socket to make sure no confusing buying motherboards. Well, what the frack is this now? AM4 is a godly platform in my book, even if some motherboards lost some support along the way, it's an amazing socket.

This has nothing to do with intel i think, its like most entry z490 wont support the new cpu,s.

this is just Intel being Intel, but ... what a mess Asrock did with Z490 boards o_O
https://forums.guru3d.com/data/avatars/m/282/282473.jpg
my z490 aorus elite got rkl-s bios in january.and it's a mid-range z490.I have a third, dedicated pcie4 m.2 slot for rkl on that same board too. this has nothing to do with the chipset, asrock's z490 is a mess.same for asus.people fell for brand name instead of doing some research.

The low end z490 from ashrock have pathetic vrm if those are the only boards not supported i can see why. But on the other hand this is intel 😛 they love changing chipsets and sockets we will know when the list extends or does not extend more .

My Z490 Gigabyte Vision G board already has the bios out for rocket lake. The m2 slot on the board is for pcie4 and it's labeled for it. I am going to get a 11900k and skip Alder Lake and the next gen after that totally. I should be good for awhile with pcie4 and an 11900k. Glad Gigabyte made their boards compatible with the new cpus and pcie gen.
