Give me a 49 inch 5120x1440 OLED then we will talk. 4k is over rated and 16:9 needs to die already.

Good luck when you're 60 years old and can't see anything out your thick glasses.
it's not a CRT monitor.

Ultrawides are kind of terrible for work. They're worse than a 16:9 monitor for reading text, and worse than a second monitor to have things on the side.
Such nonsense. Just because you are biased for 16:9 does change how the actual reat of the work world works. I have worked in many places where they use 34 inch curved ultrawides and 49 superwides for work and everyone loves them. They hate the dual 16:9 nonsense. Literally talked a architech about him using the same exact 49 inch I have at home. 16:9 blows. Its not 2006 anymore.

This looks like a really bad setup, but even in this one, you can see the main issue with the ultrawides. The operating systems, are at best working with the idea of splitting a screen to two or four parts. All of that means that you either need custom software, or a custom window manager to actually use an ultrawide. Their main issue is the window management nightmare. And after that, you have the terrible pixel density.
