Nowadays everything is affordable: monitors at 500€, GPUs at +1000€, and Intel CPUs. Here in Portugal minimum wage is 580€, then you have to deduct taxes and social discounts. This monitor is not affordable at all, there are TV's bigger and cheaper than this!

I am using a 43in 4k uhd hdr tv as my monitor now and it is fantastic to say the least, fantastic picture, Diablo 3 artwork at 4k is stunning to look at, and the cost of this tv, £350 coming up for 2 years ago......of course i have no issues playing with 30 or 60 fps and drops in fps don't really bother me that much, so i am sorted, but thanks for the thought LG. Lol
43" 4k HDR TV for £350 in 2016 thats very unlikely.

^^^ Argos is your friend, you can get a 43in 4k HDR for £329 right now, my living room TV is a 55in Hisense bought from Amazon last Xmas for £399 delivered, the bargains are there, you just need to reach out and grab them. lol

Affordable? My ass is affordable. Thats almost a whole Portuguese salary for a stupid monitor. Sure it delivers goddies for the price but thats not cheap. Im so sick of the hypocrisy of the rich western societies; lots of people on the other side of the planet making a buck or two a day to go eat some rice and vegetables and you guys calling a 500€ monitor affordable. Anyway im just grumpy because im poor.

ohh how we have progressed. contrast ratio is 3000:1 brightness of 300 cd/m2. 100% of the sRGB Mr Triton from 1999 is far better. its 2.5k but still. contrast ratio is 50000:1 brightness of 400 cd/m2. 100% of the sRGB? Pift its pure RGB, can display any mix of RGB. Just saying.
Yes and 2 years of running costs as much as buying new equivalent which does not suffer from any of its flaws. (But I guess flaws do not matter here, right?)
