Thats... terrifying. The noise, too!

I am not a doomsayer, but I have a firm belief that if "scientists" are not careful enough (and by the very difinition and all the history of humanity - they are not), such machines might become our undoing.

Don't need A.I.
All you need is some dxckhead uploading a "virus" that causes the machine to kill everything and we have a major "incident" on our hands.

There is no doubt these things will one day be on our streets for law enforcement
Not sure if in our lifetimes, but it's almost certain the government / military will see massive potential once they're ready
A farmers tractor was the idea behind the first tank

One thing comes from my mind upon seeing this (though this is a manned unit):
Walker Gear from MGS: Tha Phantom Pain

AI will never be able to 'think' for themselves like humans, they will always rely on a set of instructions that humans gave them, from those instructions they will be able to make calculated decisions on problems but never actually 'think' for themselves
They will have no real hatred, empathy, jealousy, anger or any other human emotion, just "This is the problem presented to me", "These are the choices I have from the code I have pre-programmed", "so this seems the best solution to execute for the scenario"
So unless we code them to be able to go kill, which we will, then they would never choose that themselves from non lethal coding

Well, we have surpassed many of Star Trek's technology so I suppose anime is next!
